He made it look so easy like a WR was something he did every day just before his Weetabix breakfast. Well the record still stands, nearly a quarter of a century later! Simply phenomenal.

He also did, if I'm not mistaken, a jump of 18.43 meters, but more than the allowed 2m/sec wind speed. Fantastic athlete and a lovely person.

To break WR twice in a row takes some doing

That's exactly 60 feet and 1 quarter of an inch. Yes, when you measure any distance exactly, it's exact.

Still a world record and probably will not be beaten until the moon Olympics of 2223

There’s nothing better than seeing people push the limits of what we believe is possible, even if it’s something as simple as jumping a little further than anyone ever has before.

Simple the greatest pure elegance in his jumps . His 18.43 wind assisted jump was out this world

They’ve built an outline of his jump in his home town of Ilfracombe, Devon as a tribute.... it’s an amazing distance!

No drugs here. As perfect a technique as we’ll ever see. The right person at the right moment.

So amazing to jump further than anyone in history and then absolutely smash it again. For a few moments he reached perfection.

I can't quite believe this was 24 years ago! I was 14 years old, sat at home watching this. I remember it like it was yesterday. This and Michael Johnson's 19.32 in the 200m at Atlanta in 1996 were the most astonishing things I've seen at Olympic games. I know Bolt went on to do amazing things too but it was kind of expected he'd do something amazing from an early age.

Poetry in motion. The single greatest athletic performance by a European athlete in the last 25 years. In any sport. Grace, balance, speed, power. He literally outjumps the normal range of the pit. Phenomenal.
