So many people including myself have dealt with overeating for most of our lives. While diets and fitness goals can create temporary solutions, it doesn't fix the real cause of it. In this video, I identify 2 deep-rooted reasons that cause people to overeat and how to overcome them.

Wild animals deal with that feeling of hunger either daily, weekly, or during various seasons. When I was in the Military, there were times I had to go up to 72 hours with only water. We've lost connection with the reality of being hungry and letting the hunger fade away. It's always about discipline and self-control.

I watched my Dad recover from open heart surgery and then die from colon cancer. I’m hoping fasting and eating healthy will help me avoid the same. So I try to keep that in mind when I crave junk. This video helps confirm my belief/thought process. Thanks!!!

Me too. I've been trying to eat WFPB, but I'm constantly eating Chinese food, not the good kind. No rice with steamed vegetables, bug chicken wings and fried rice! Then when I'm eating it, I'm aware I shouldn't have. Boooo!!

I've been overeating my entire life man. The way I cope with it now is eating one meal a day. I've lost 70lbs so far these last 7 months and I've also uploaded every workout session since Day 1, currently just uploaded day 240 a few minutes ago. The way I like to look at eating and fitness is making it a lifestyle. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy myself occasionally and go all out but I know how to turn that switch back on to one meal a day, nonprocessed, homemade meals mode. Animals, vegetables and rice is what I mainly eat these days and it's life changing. As for exercise, I've been going super hard on calisthenics. Thanks for always spilling out your positivity Master Mike Chang! Looking forward to every video you drop.

I really needed this Mike. I've dealt with over eating for many years now. I considered attending over eaters anonymous. Yes, apparently there's a group for everything now days. I never went but whenever I've tried to open up about it, no one has ever taken me serious because I've never been overweight. Over eating has been debilitating at times and I've suffered from digestive disorders and lethargy. I AM going to take control because i do notice it hinders my spiritual connectivity. My vibration and energy is very dense when I over indulge. I have so much energy and feel so connected when I only give my body what it needs. Thank you for reminding me

May He bless you and touch your heart. The kingdom of heaven welcomes you with open arms. He is the way the truth and life no one comes to the Father but through him. Any practical tips I can use to work on myself internally? I am not at the level of consciousness to know how to heal my traumas, I am only aware that they exist.

@mikechang What if you have low blood sugar and your body needs nourishment? Should you still preserve through and sit or can you drink like sugar free Gatorade? Or Do something different? It seems like when I don't eat for too long then I am more prone to over eating or binging

  • @mikafoxx2717

Maybe try lower carb to help control the blood sugar rollercoaster, your body has the ability to tightly regulate blood sugar given no sugar or carbs going in, so it's not like you need to be on a constant drip of them. Cut out the high carb and use Protein+ fat to pad out any carbs you do have, ideally from veg. You'll feel fuller for longer. A lot of feeling hungry is also our body craving more protein, yet most junk food is just fat and carbs, so it doesn't feed that biological need.

If you're just talking about obese people or people that have poor diets then i agree with you. But take a person thats skinny and wants to bulk, they will most certainly have to eat alot of food and sometimes thats bad food then after months of eating and lifting heavy and building muscle, they will go on a cut and lean down. It all depends on the individual person and body type. What we put into are body is determined on what we're doing "exercise wise". Alot of people just need to change what they're eating to lose weight. If you're extremely overweight and eat every 3 hours all you really need to do is portion your meals and make them healthier and you will lose weight. But but you could go the other way and see your weight gain as an advantage and turn all that fat into muscle, of course eat healthier but bigger guys have an advantage when it comes to body building.

A lot of it is about.....sugar and simple carbs. We eat the wrong things. And the wrong things make you do what..they make you crave more food like that! Lol Sugary stuff actually increases appetite and u get food momentum! It also makes you feel good instantly so that goes along with what you are saying..instant feel good. The more times you eat, you spike your insulin and signal body to store fat and turn off fat burning. Ever wonder why when you eat desserts or ice cream , u can keep eating and eating.lol ..all ab hormones! They r super powerful. Do u want to keep overeating salads? Haha not really. So u need balanced hormones. That means...good sleep, low stress, and do what you love, solid relationships.., good thoughts, and get vitamin D and some exercise. Stay away drom sugary stuff if u can. I cannot, but i know it is not good. Sugar is the best fat creator. Fat is not. Fat is insulin neutral. This is really the key. Get your micronutrients..lots of salads, lots of protein and good fats, and low carbs..no sugar. Do this and u will look great. Can i do it? No, but it would be great if i could. Also, that..getting past the hunger is actually your insulin levels dropping and your appetite hormones at bay. It is actually scientific. Most damage is done during that momentum eating we do. Sugary stuff and the simple carbs and fake food snacks will shut down the appetite regulating hormones. Thatz a huge thing to understand.
