    You just need to admit you were lying or 'misread/misunderstood' once the immigration officer asks you if you fully understood something. These border officers give a lot of second chances.

    So, I was curious about Deborah and Matthew, considering this took place almost two decades ago: turns out that Matthew was charged with assault on his neighbour around 2016. I found the article on Daily Mail dated 2016. His last name is Jennings and is a "doctor" of sorts. Edit: he and Deborah did marry and had a daughter, but they separated.

    Deborah may appear sympathetic but she’s not innocent. She overstayed the original (valid) visa by 4 months before seeking another visa which she now learns is invalid. She knew she was excluded for 3 years from breaching the valid one. That said, I hope she’s able to return and have a lasting relationship. Also, nothing is stopping Matthew from traveling to see her in the UK. That person who gave her wrong advice should be prosecuted.

    When they said that Singapore airlines was fined 5,000$ for fly the guy without a visa…is that because they flew him into Australia or because they had to transport him to wherever it was?

  • @k.r.3598

    @k.r.3598

    22 күн бұрын

    The fine is due to Singapore Airlines not verifying that the guy had a valid Visa. Singapore dropped the ball, and will have to pay the above fine. I would imagine that the passenger will have to work out the cost of the return flight with the airline. A friend of mine who works for a US-based International airline told me that the airlines have to have a certain # of seats available on each International flight for use by each country's Border/Immigration Agency for officially deporting individuals. And yes, this means that passengers may involuntarily get bumped off the outbound flight to make room for the deportees. And if you happen to be flying Stand By/Space Available status (employees, family members, retirees, etc. on vacation), you'll be the first off the flight.
