It sucks that they were taken from the wild but that’s how their shipped(except I didn’t see a heat pad in the box). Reptiles can go very long without food and water

That’s pretty low of the mom blaming her kids for the fruit. Don’t blame them. It’s your responsibility.
This “I don’t know” Asian woman makes me sick! I’m glad she got fined!
Maybe Australia should start getting more strict with repeat offenders since Australia's eco-system is so unique and any biosecurity threats could cost Australia millions in. Perhaps "a three strikes and you're out" law (like the Americans do with certain criminal charges) would decrease the amount of serial offenders.

WHAT? An Asian woman with prohibited food concealed and not declared. That’s a rare event. I think I only see this on very rare occasions. Maybe only 99% of the time. I bet the customs lady was super surprised as this hardly ever happens. 😂

Obviously not the food they want, I’m not sure why that’s so hard for people to understand. People create whole shops/supermarkets/towns to meet the needs of specific cultures in a foreign land. That’s not a new concept and I’m sure to import it costs a lot of money, so they will try to bring some along when they travel back home.

There are certain foods you can’t find in Australia.
Charge them for their ignorance, in spite of the fact that they have traveled to Australia many times. The customs officers in Australia are just too linient. Travelers should know the laws before traveling to a foreign land, & ignorance is not an excuse. Follow the rules.

Anyone who fails to declare food or just makes a false declaration should be fined and refused entry. Send that message out loud and clear. Failing that triple the ABF and AQUIS staff and make every Asian pass through inspection before entry is granted. They are the single biggest threat to Australia’s bio security
That woman who blames the kids for the fruit really ticks me off. Mother of the year she is not
They should start issuing fines for undeclared/prohibited food items by the weight once they exceed a certain number. Anything below that should be fined a substantial minimum amount. Huge difference between someone who brought in a few items and a mini market in their bags.
"Sorrym I don't know," often appears to be the most common response of Chinese or East Asian citizens when caught with illegal foods. Tsk, tsk, tsk!

18 years ago I brought back a number of wooden items I’d been gifted in Argentina, and declared them all. All the Argentinian ones were fine, and I was able to keep them, but the one item I’d been gifted from the USA had a borer in it. I was offered the options of either paying to have it treated (and then I could keep it), or else have it confiscated. I opted to let them keep it. They said they were going to keep it to use it training what to look for. It’s devastating to think one small thing like that undeclared could be behind the trees in Hyde Park in WA having to be cut down.

Kudos to Border Security staff on their knowledge. I wouldn't know half the stuff all these tourists brought in and I'm a foodie who's very familiar with Chinese food! When I saw @23:25 I thought it was brown sugar but the label on the packaging says 'beef cubes' (a type of jerky). 2 big suitcases of food ingredients! Oh my lord~ When my mom came to visit for the first time, I told her over and over not to take any food or food ingredients. Either we can buy them here or we don't need it that badly. When she finally arrived she told me she got in trouble at quarantine. I didn't hold back on the "I told you so."

Why the Chinese people always come with suitcases full of plants, greens, roots, raw fruits, fish or any moving objects being cooked, bottled etc. Food stuffs are available globally and don't they know it?
The lady with the "diarrhea" shoes was actually saying "Australia" / au-ta-li-ya in mandarin. No idea why it got misheard as diarrhea. 😅
She needs to see her gastroenterologist oily stool like that could be very serious
...as for the food concealments .. penalties need to be severe enough to convince perpetrators that it's not a joke, and that the damage they could cause to Australia is incredibly far reaching. The "No speak English" is also a bit sus, so translators should be available to sort that one out. How could they NOT know about restrictions??? Fines by themselves do not seem to be a sufficient deterrent .... maybe jail terms and cancellation of visas need to be included.
How would you tell someone that speaks a different language, like German or French? Or a language that your staff don't know?
Why is the airline representative with the Chinese passenger in the last clip? Shes clearly not there to translate or to assist customs in their job.
