    These border officers aren't exactly friendly. I was in border between Canada and US. The dude says your car needs to be searched I go in and sit inside for 2 hours. They check my passport and give it back without saying the word. I asked "Can I go". The dude responded "if you ask me that I'm detaining you". After that point I said I'm heading back to Canada. The dude looked stunned. I don't need attitude, just need a decent service and these bozos cannot even provide that.

    I've been harassed by US officers while travelling internationally and just passing through the USA. Let me tell you those officers will find any reason to scare you. I dunno if they think it's funny or it's a powertrip... but I've been in this kid's shoes and let me tell you, they these people will gaslight you into making you feel guilty.

    I've had problems with TSA on multiple occasions too. The only international entry point to the US I've had a positive experience at is Honolulu and I'm Australian lol (though in Hawaii a lot of people thought I was half Native Hawaiian so definitely treated me very well, just awkward when they start speaking Hawaiian)

    That's probably because they have been successful with other similar ones they profiled. After working retail for years I got very good at profiling and was right almost every time. If I was wrong no harm.

    It's not in their power to open every crate posible... but when they do find something they are happy because they have prevented a large amount of drugs from crossing the border. Sure, they won't be able to confiscate most, but it's a good day when they do. Also, the 1 in 8 thing is smart, to u it sounds dumb but as a smuggler u have a 1/8 chance of getting caught EVERY single time u attempt to smuggle something.

    Canadian border searched my car for 2 hours. I was driving from New Brunswick Canada to Montreal for the Van Halen concert. I took the southern route because of a snow storm. If I had known they would delay me 2 hours I would have driving the north route. Instead I had to drive the sketchy unplowed roads in no where Maine. Ofcourse the car was clean but what a pain.

    @@northketchup785 What do you not understand? It is illegal to enter any improperly because the country has the right and the DUTY to vet anyone entering their country. There is NO "genuine reason" to enter ANY country illegally! There is already a contingency and method in place for those seeking asylum. They MUST present themselves at an established border crossing.
