2 cars, 1 tech.. How I got a BMW 335d cheap!

Do you remember the white BMW 335d no start video? Well, the owner didn't want to buy an engine for it so he sold it to me. He knew I had a good engine I could use from a wrecked 335d to restore it and he would love to see the car back on the road again in its former glory. In this video we remove the m57 diesel engine from the white car and the engine from the wrecked black car. We install upgraded valve springs, new gaskets and perform a much needed carbon cleaning. Then we swap the go-fast parts from the white car to the good engine...I'm a little nervous with all the extras that I might blow up with this engine too..

I had to buy two E46 330ci to make one good manual coupe. Now I have a spare motor to go through and install all the turbo goodies. Only thing that made sense to me for a cheap track car.
Love how thorough and meticulous he is. So satisfying to see.

All your shop is so cool. I wish I could work on bmws in shop like that. I did one M57 repair two years ago. No garage, no special tools. It took me 3 weeks. And I made it running again. Sold for profit.
Making me wish I was still a tech. Miss all the engine R&Rs, finding all the little ways to be efficient and clean. Great work Jamie! Love the videos. Office space tribute👌🏻

That was an interesting one. Really enjoyed watching it. Great production quality also. Just had to laugh when you were talking about how dirty the black one was underneath. Wish here in the UK or generally in Europe cars would be that clean underneath. Never seen an E90 chassis with basically no rust.
Love this format explaning to an intresting level but still keeping it moving so it aint 30min of taking 4 bults out love it keep it up!👌

Enjoyed the vid. It could have been 3 episodes long. I would have liked to see some of that diesel teardown. I just finished a N54 rwd manual swap into an E91 awd N52 wagon. I kinda wished I had done a diesel. That's crazy fast to do that in a couple nights even though it's similar motors.

Smilers per gallon(SPG) on that thing are insaneeeeeee. Comparable to the e46 m3 in SPG. looking forward to seeing what you have instore for it, and i am lowkey very very jealous that you found one that was tastefully moded. If you ever do a rebuild on the other motor. a guide would be amazing and i would be eternally grateful.

Really awesome content, had been a follower for quite a bit. Always get me hooked up. Keep it up 👍🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 I had been in the Army for 5 years as an aircraft mechanic, but honestly is not my thing, I am a car enthusiast, I really love working on cars, specially BMW’s, and german cars. Been preparing to get out of the Army to work on cars and stuff, really thinking of getting my own shop at some point, but will really like some advice, not a lot of car enthusiasts in the aviation world. Army offers a program before you get out to get you certify in your program of preference mostly trade schools and stuff, one of those is the BMW MSTEP. I will like to start on that before beginning the journey, since the Army is going to cover it why not. Any advice will be highly appreciated, thanks again! 🤙🏼👍🏼

just subbed, been working on this guys 335d 2011 model year, has had tons of codes for the scr system replaced cat, both nox sensors but still getting an efficiency error code 4d16

A few reasons I didn’t do that. I wanted the transmission from the broken engine b/c it’s tuned, has a performance TC and recently serviced. I wanted to clean the subframe and working on an engine stand is easier

I really would like to work in your shop, I love BMW, but my knowledge with them is very poor, Unfortunately the 3 shop I have work on didn’t have many Beamers going there so I couldn’t get experience. Nice channel.
