2.25 petrol tapping on first start up - Adjusting rocker clearance - 39 Land Rover Series 3 Project

In this video I fill the coolant, bleed the brakes and clutch, fit the inlet tract and start the newly rebuilt 2.25 petrol engine for the first time. It turns out the rocker clearances are a fraction wide, so I adjust those down to 10 thou and the engine runs absolutely sweet.

Greetings from Korea I envy you. There are only a few people who ride the series here. I'm Series 3 1980. I'm Randy from the Netherlands. It's really lacking and difficult, but I learn a lot by watching the video

Hello, have you got any tips on setting the ignition timing e.g positioning

Hi there. Yeah set it statically first, that means having the engine at the right position but not turning. 8 degrees before TDC I think.... then with the ignition switched on use q test light bulb earthed at the distributor. So as you roative the distributor back and forth by hand the light bulb switches on and off. With the engine in the right position set the distributor to the point where the bulb switches on and tighten it down that should have it pretty close
