Dpuk killing it with the builds. Old landy, big power om605, vague steering, box on chassis what more could a person want.

That is the sickest land rover ever built! I could just imagine the look on the boyracers face when he attempts a pass on it on the open road in his sykline and gets left in a cloud black smoke and sees this beast disappear into the distance. 😂 i could have so much fun in a weapon like this!

I am a fan of tuned diesel mercedes engines and own a om605 powered 190, however I don't think even a bone stock skyline would be troubled by this vehicle. It is a well built and looks like a lot of fun but aerodynamics and general set up would limit it for fast road driving.

@@OM617a iv owned a few turbo skylines and they are nowhere near as fast as they sound. This thing would eat 80% of them for breakfast for 0-100kmh. I do agree if you are talking about a top speed run the skyline would win hands down.

@@baron30001 I drove a modified Skyline a few years back, it was quick, about 600bhp, also have an imported Toyota that is similar. I don't mean to be critical though, there is too much of that on youtube and in the car community in general. I am like all cars, anything tuned or built, mostly 1990's or earlier. I do like the idea of upsetting people at the lights, would be a lot of fun.

@@Tyler-ts2ld I understand the advantage of torque, I have been building cars for years. Have 6 on the go currently. I realise the capability of a tuned 605 over cars not putting out big numbers, I just thought a skyline was a bad example.

The windscreen wiper is struggling with the g-forces of the warp speed it was never designed to experience! I am dying with laughter at this whilst the rivet counters would be dying of an aneurysm! I've loved Landys for years and have driven nothing else for the last twenty years (apart from my Triumph Speed Triple but that's a different story!) and all the 'quirks and features' are clearly on display here: noise, bangs, rattles, turning circle akin to the Titanic and about as waterproof too! The panel gaps are fantastic! What an absolute monster of a Series I, I can't wait for the build video, cheers!

Kind of impressed that your HP number was top of the competition. Especially given that you mentioned there were some 5.9 Cummins there. Also impressed that your waste gate caps off @ 55psi. Mighty impressive for a little diesel like that. Just goes to show everyone how well you guys built that engine. Looking forward to the 2nd part of the build video!

I would bet that this Landi is running illegal by having no mot. Being exempt only applies if original condition. If I'm right for me this guy is a true Hero. All the money here has been spent where you can't see it, even the wheels are basic and the paint job is eh well you know. In a time where everyone is banging on about Air pollution etc this guy sticks two fingers right up to the establishment and his dress code is so cool, he couldn't give a toss what you think, he is on his own path he is his own man and all I can say in summary is; WHAT A HELL OF A COOL GUY. Respect. Oh and the Landie is not too bad either.

Those old diesel landrovers were close to bulletproof. Tough little blighters when given TLC, went forever. Now all you need to do is do some tuning to get rid of the black smoke and free up some more power by burning off that excess fuel.
