Wyatt Earp the movie released on June 24, 1994 With Cast: Kevin Costner - Wyatt Earp Dennis Quaid - Doc Holiday Gene Hackman Tom Sizemore (1961-2023) Bill Pullman
I can't believe I guessed this one correctly.
I was stumped! 😮😂❤
It’s so nice when you know the answer before Ken is done reading the question

It was a lucky guess for me.
As soon as I did the arithmetic (1896-15=1881), I could deduce it was Wyatt Earp. By 1896, he was about the only participant in the "Gunfight at the OK Corral" still living.

I did that math too. It's lucky I knew the correct response anyway, or I probably would have been hung up on the Garfield assassination.
I had a punchers 👊 chance ..but didn't know ! 😕
I knew it from being a boxing history fan. That was a tough one.
Congrats to Deb, she will be tough to beat. Matheny had some bad breaks, but he makes risky wagers. Mira has that Kardashian vocal fry accent.
I got this one because I knew Doc Holliday had died before 1896, which only left Wyatt Earp.

I'd say the contest who wrote Doc Holiday had excellent printing too.
Knew this one from a Jon Bois video that touched briefly on the correct response's career as a boxing referee. He was also once sanctioned for carrying a gun while in the ring!

@tomwigal8856 the Bois video presented them as separate incidents, though it isn't at all hard to believe or accept he was packing on multiple (or even all) occasions he was a boxing ref
Got it. But I was surprised. Interesting.

Same here. Total guess on my part.
Smart wagering
Please don't reply to that spoiler guy who makes up reasons why he "knows". It is so frustrating when you can't even watch even a snippet of Jeopardy without some snotty little jerk deliberately trying to ruin it. I hope my post takes up enough room to hide any spoiler from showing up

I still don't understand why someone would do that? Pretty disturbing behavior.
I'm just happy that I got it right

OMG who cares other than you? People watch for the questions, only family members care about the contestants! 😅
I also guessed Doc Holiday. At least I had the right showdown. 🤷♀️
Braddock? That’s like 40 years later isn’t it?

Yeah, Braddock was a boxer during the Great Depression and beat Max Baer for the heavyweight championship.

Good one. That is a correct response.
I thought of the correct response, based on 1881 as the year of the showdown at the OK Corral in Tombstone, AZ.
I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right.
Someone forgot that "Doc" Holliday had serious health problems even at the time of the OK Corral. I had no doubt it was Earp (Wyatt, I know there were three Earps there), because he's the one famous for pitching the legend many years later, but, also, I didn't imagine Holliday lived another 15 years. And now that I check it, he didn't.

That was not something that came to mind in the allotted 30 seconds. I thought fixing a boxing match sounded like a Doc Holliday thing more than an Earp thing so that's why I put him. I do not consult her Google or any online source to cheat to get an answer. I play it like the contestants do; if I don't get it in 27 seconds, I count it wrong since 3 seconds isn't enough to write most answers down.
Wyatt Earp that correct, great games.🎉
Wyatt Earp wasn't a good guy.
