A classic Rob upload of a classic series from a classic era. I remember following this series in school, Waugh/Blewett partnership, Paul Adams reverse sweep and Mark Waugh's 116 all being thrilling, all the while with Mark Taylor in the middle of a horror form slump and relentless calls to either be dropped or stand aside himself. That carried on even louder into Ashes '97 that followed, capped off when some UK tabloid journo presented him with a metre wide bat at a press conference. But it obviously spurred Tubby on as he went on to shut them all right up in the first Test, making one of the great knocks under pressure, especially by a skipper. I'll be the millionth to say this just today no doubt, but who cares - thanks for everything you do, Rob. You are a true legend of cricket, and friend to all the cricket family worldwide. Special mention also to Jack Bannister, presenting this series summary with his usual style. A '90s BBC TV coverage stalwart, and like Tony Lewis a class commentator and general class act.

+Omar Ayaz Bevan was playing at 7 to add batting strength because they couldn't (or wouldn't) drop captain Mark Taylor for his very poor run with the bat at the time. 3rd seamer would have been useful but weakened the batting too much.
