Maybe you mean that the steel causes more wear than usual? Because, for the aluminum to because weak you must either stress it with abnormal forces, or alter the composition or construction of the aluminum alloy in the hub. It is true to say that because steel is physically harder than aluminum, more wear will occur on the aluminum, and therefore wear out the spline on the aluminum hub first, rather than the spline on the steel axle. This would be especially true if the hub nut is bit loose.

I have replaced rear sprocket and chain and something goofy Is going on. When I ride in rough ground at high speeds it sounds like something is grinding like gears or something. I have no idea what is going on and wondered if any of u guys new !?

I like the vid, problem is, the only way to properly fix those stupid rear hubs is to use green lock-tight between the splines of the hub and axle, you will have to use a little heat if you ever want to remove them but they will never strip out again.

Yea, i know steel is prone to rusting, turning the iron into iron oxide. And Aluminium naturally oxidises too, it forms an approx 30 micron thick layer of Aluminum oxide on the surface which prevents the aluminium from oxidising further in. Whereas rust on iron flakes off and continues rusting deeper. I still don't get what/how exactly you mean??

Aluminium does not get corroded by steel. And if you really think it does, please tell me how?
