1994 F150 2WD 6 inch rough country lift kit install
My son put his truck in the ditch and bent some suspension components so we decided to go back with a 6 inch lift kit
This kit went smooth as silk and we are very pleased with how easy the install was
A++ to rough country lift kits

Bringing back memories, I had a 95 XL 2wd extended cab with 5.0 and 5-speed manual. After 8 years I wanted a new truck but couldn't afford one so I put that same 6" lift on minus the steering stabilizer. With 35" tires I moved my front bumper forward 2" and it was good except I needed a lower rear gear to help the power. I had 3.55 rear gears and didn't want to mess with them so the next new tires I put 33"s. Years later I sold it and regret that to this day. it was the best money I ever spent on a vehicle.
Your knowledge would rock with my old 95 F250
Came here for the truck vid. Stayed for the "bananer"
beautiful truck! i got the 6" kit on 32s ford 96 7.3L

Ok 👍
I feel bad for the damage done on the truck from the hydroplane
What size rims you got I have a 1987 foot-150 I ordered a 6in lift and wanna put 35x12.50r20 will that work or?

We put 35” tires on 12” wide rims and we had to trim the bumper and a little bit of the lower fender but they clear all the inside chassis points good
We ran into that issue with the I beam being shaped like a banana. We couldn't get it to line up with the bracket. Are these I beams bent like this from factory?

No the are relatively straight we got some from the local scrap yard and the bolted up fine no issues👍
How was the first lift? I am thinking about doing that to my truck or the 2.5in rc lift

The first lift with just the blocks we couldn’t get the front end lined back up correct I would recommend rough country because they normally have everything figured out for you and it goes much smoother👍
Just got my rc lift today. Question what are the torque specs on radius bracket and drop bracket
@ChristmanGarage
Жыл бұрын
Sorry! I’m not sure. We usually just tighten them to feel because a few of them are in a bad position to get a torque wrench on. But if you really wanted to torque them all you should be able to find a chart on-line with different bolt sizes and recommended torque specs. Maybe this helps👍
Did you have to change the break lines ?
@ChristmanGarage

No but they are CLOSE! I would recommend changing them to the longer ones rough country has
Can you link the lift?

Did you end up getting the steering stabilizer installed? My mechanic said he didn’t see where it mounted. I also have a 2wd. Is it a must have?

Yes I think it’s a must it bolts to the frame on the passenger side and the other end goes to the tie rod

another question. I put a 6 inch lift on my obs f150. but the 35s are rubbing on inner suspension components. do they make after market components that help with this issue, or do I just need spacers?@@ChristmanGarage
@ChristmanGarage

@@jacobkincaid123 yes probably need a tiny spacer, but be careful too much spacer is bad because they will hit bumper and fender. We put 35’s on this truck and we had to cut a little bumper and fender but they cleared all the suspension fine.

did you have to get special camber/caster bushings? for some reason it keeps wanting to veer right@@ChristmanGarage
@ChristmanGarage
11 ай бұрын
@@jacobkincaid123 we lined up the front end after wards and we kept the stock shim on one side and I think we used a 1 or 2 degree bushing on one side. If yours is pulling to one side your caster is probably different from side to side double check your alignment
I called rough country and they said they didn’t have one for a 2wd :( on fwd?? How did you get it to fit??

We ended up putting 35” tires 12” wide on it and it cleared all the suspension fine but had to trim bottom of bumper and front of fender
How’s the alignment

Actually my son ran into the back of a FedEx truck 1 month after the lift kit and we have just got him back on the road I think the front has settled a little and we are going to go back over it. It still drives good 👍
How long did it take ya to install?

Maybe 6hours total
how is your ROUGH country ride, is it rough? I regret not spending the money on a real kit everyday worst ride ever, no hope for this kit, just a waste of money.
