Christman Garage

Christman Garage is just 3 generations of blue collar mechanics in eastern North Carolina that love fixin' things.

26 years experience on the east coast tearing stuff up and fixin' a few things from time to time.

This channel will be about fixin' mechanical things that are "givin' trouble", "give out", or just plain "gone to the bad"!

The plan is hopefully to help a few of you out and laugh a little along the way.

    Mines a 97. This is the only time I've had such a good view of the spark plugs on that side. They've always been an enigma. Between my hands and the plenum i couldn't see a thing.

  • @ChristmanGarage

    Yeah I’m pretty sure I had to extend the shocks on that job, if you have access to a welder you can make some extensions pretty quick and easy, maybe this helps👍 good luck

    So the wiper module can be opened up and repaired. Wipers on my 1999 MGM only work in high speed so when I move to low speed or intermittent I am removing power and wipers park anywhere.I Need them to work in low and intermittent to park properly. Multifunction resistance within specs on all speeds. Washer works but does not activate the wipers. So module or wiper motor?

  • @ChristmanGarage
    @ChristmanGarageАй бұрын

    Without looking at a schematic I would guess the module , however I have seen a bad motor not park properly

    Hey brother, the four pin socket for that preload ring is W1272 at your local Oreilly store. The torque on that ring is 205 ft. lbs. (Yes I’ve got by using the punch & hammer too. But preload is important for longevity of that Bearing!). Thanks for the sockets and Rotor spacing tip! Two treated 4”x6” blocks 11” long stood on edge, with two thin steel plates on top makes your press cradle spacing (taller) deeper also.

  • @ChristmanGarage

    I haven’t bought any of these parts in a while but if I had to make a guess just the compressor is probably around $200 not including everything else. I would probably budget around 5 or 6 hundred

    So if it’s only a little fluid in the motor mount will it continue to drip

  • @ChristmanGarage
    @ChristmanGarageАй бұрын

    No once the fluid is gone it quits but you may get a vibration or rattle because of the bad motor mount
