Me! And they completely dominated Italy this time!

First, it was Goycochea, and now it's Emi Martinez. Two true Goalkeeping heroes of Argentina. The two GKs and Argentina as a whole are the GOAT of penalty shootouts, no contest (only Germany and Croatia come close). And this is not to call them a lucky team, but rather a testament to how good they are at holding their nerves, how strong they are psychologically, and how accurate they are from the penalty spot. You win one or two shootouts out of the many you play, which could be dismissed as luck. But when you have won 6/7 penalty shootouts at the World Cup, adding to that this one and the Copa America 2021 one (amongst others I have missed out), it can no longer be dismissed as sheer luck, but strength of will and nerves of steel. Not only has the country been blessed with some serious talent right from the beginning of the sport itself, but they are also very passionate about the sport (they have the most passionate fanbase) and are the most courageous and determined team I have come across. Amazing stuff from Argentina❤❤

Maradona completely dominating at age 34 or more or less same age as Messi in WC22. Only difference Maradona skipping past players as always while Messi isn’t..
