I had the pleasure of being at this game. Both sides put on a great show despite the very hot conditions. Argentine were quick, dynamic, but a little too open and wasteful in attack, whereas Romania played a very smart and clinical game. Hagi's composure and left foot, it's precision was a joy to watch. It's sad that his name doesn't get mentioned as much as it should, he was a truly great player. As for the final, and knowing how hot Pasadena was at the time, it's a miracle that an injured Baggio managed to play 120 minutes.

Com certeza. Mais nao so isso, eu acho que hoje em dia simplesmente nao tem tanto espaco mais. Na quela epoca, podia pegar a bola e driblar, ir pra frente, agora o cara recebi a bola e ja tem dois marcadores em sima dele. Fora o Messi e o Barcelona, o jogo fico MUITO feio de se assistir nesses ultimos 15 anos

A few offsides wrongly went against Argentina, but it was a good contest and I wouldn't begrudge that fine Romania side from the run they had in that tournament. Their exploits were one of the highlights of USA 94. Shame Maradona wasn't able to play by this point though, got himself banned because of an illegal weight loss supplement!

1980 to 1990 was era of football magic 1990 till 1999 was end of that gold generation ;( 2002 world. Was as just saying good bye football ) 2002 till now football no more only media controlling the game

Acompanho Copas do Mundo com muita intensidade desde a de 1990 e acho esse jogo o melhor de todos, assim como a final da última copa, 2022. Mas foram jogos com características bem diferentes. I follow World Cups very intensively since the 1990 and I think this game is the best of all, as well as the final of the last cup, 2022. But they were games with very different characteristics.

This game was exciting only because Argentina did all the attacking. Romania caught them on the counter. Romania's next game against Sweden was a colossal bore because both teams were waiting for the other side to take the initiative.

This match was the best in USA 1994 World Cup. It was round 16 I think where Maradona was just excluded from the tournament in the previous game. I rank this match as the 2nd best in all WCs. The 1st is undoubtedly Qatar 2022 WC final match between Argentina and France.

Hagi is one of those players I woulds rate as good or better than Maradona, and even if left foot dominant, Hagi was 2 footed, but underrated because of his nationality, which is so common for east European brilliant players. Both of these teams were by far better than the crap team that stole World Cup title at the end.
