@@houssem711 Andersson scored several goals similar to this one, included against Germany and Bulgaria. Prunea wasn't to blame.

What a match 😮 I was 8 yo then, I remember every goal opportunity we had (romanians) . God was swedish that day. What a mistake by Prunea at the swedish second goal, and what an incredible double save he had the next minute. RIP Didi Prodan & Klas Ingesson . 2 golden generations that played a memorable match.

Soy peruano y recuerdo ese partido , un partidazo , de los mejores de aquel mundial , rumanos y suecos se sacaron los ojos como se dice criollamente en mi país y salieron solo con la consigna de ganar . Recuerdo ese emotivo final donde parecía que Rumanía ganaba luego del golazo de Radiciou (tremendo delantero) y la expulsión de Schwarz (q fue vital su ausencia para el sgte parido contra Brasil) pero sobre el final apareció esa torre sueca Andersson y decretar un empate que lo grite no porque hinchara por Suecia sino por el partidazo que nos habían regalado rumanos y suecos , esa tarde clasificó Suecia pero ganó el fútbol .

Generación dorada vs generación dorada, nunca más ninguno de estos dos países lograron tener equipos tan fuertes.

I was horrified for Romania, I really wanted them to go really far. Hagi is an absolute God.

PATIDAZO!!! MUNDIAL 94. el partido era para los rumanos con George Hagi a la cabeza y el gran Radociu q' jugo 10 puntos (hizo 2 golazos y 1 mas en la tanda) lastima q' el arquero rumano no estuvo a la altura y pasaron los suecos. Q' buen partido jugaron ambos.

Probablemente haya sido el partido mas parejo de la Historia. Dos equipos a su maximo nivel con figuras legendarias.

Rumania a pesar de ser una bestia negra para Colombia, extraño mucho ese equipo era muy competitivo y una pesadilla para los ex-Campeones del Mundo, como jugaban que claridad y profundidad, deberiqan reestructurarse ahora trabajar las divisiones menores en seleccion, y el futbol femenino, asi crecer nuevamente del pasado bello y glorioso ya no se puede seguir viviendo, hay que avanzar, ahora se tienen mas cupos para el mundial 2026, y espero que regresen pronto, pero ojala regresen y si se encuentran con Colombia nosotros cobrarles la rebancha chao!!.

Why would they prefer to play Sweden? USA beat Colombia. Bulgaria beat Argentina. Colombia and Argentina weren't at their best in this tournament by any means. Sweden drew with Brazil too. Sweden were the top scorers at this WC.

@@jackmurphy6864 you might not know this but Colombia had beaten Argentina 5-0 for the WC qualifiers. Pele had picked them to get to the finals. When Romania beat both Colombia and Argentina Brazil took notice because they could play them in the Semis. Brazil were not too worried about Sweden. Romania traditionally played well against South American countries they find our style very uncomfortable. In 1970 World Cup Brazil beat Romania 3-2 in a match which Pele said was extremely difficult. Perhaps I am wrong but I feel Romania would have done better against Brazil but we will never know

@@chriscruciat2469 Sweden came out of a tougher qualifying group than Colombia did, with 4 more games and a 10 point gap between 6 sides. Colombia had a 9 point lead over last place despite playing 4 games less. A draw would have done Colombia v Argentina, and even if they'd lost, they'd have a play-off against Australia to fall back on. Sweden didn't have that safety net. Sweden's last game had 3 teams (one the other WC semi-finalist, the other the group favourites France) fighting for 2 spots. Far more competitive than Colombia's group, in fairness. Pele was well known for his crazy predictions lol. This is the guy who said an African team would win the WC before 2000. Still waiting on that one. He also picked 125 players for his best 100 players ever - and some of them were women. Colombia didn't turn up at the '94 WC - they even lost to a poor USA side. Brazil would have been very worried about Sweden before the game. Sweden had, arguably, thee best front 3 at the tournament. But, as you said, we'll never know.

@@jackmurphy6864 Colombia played some good football in their group stage games, they were a bit unlucky. Romania were on great form and proved lethal on the break against many teams, making all of Colombia's long passing moves count for nought.

Schwarz sent off. K. Andersson sent it in!

Those were the days. A warm summer, 14 years old, soccer every single night.

Sad day. Romania were the best attacking side in the 94 World Cup and were the only team that would have beaten Brazil. If only they hung onto the 2-1 lead!

It was a fair win for Sweden! We had many more chances and the offside goal wasn’t offside. Sweden should have won 3-2 without penalties.

That goal was not offside, I agree but that doesn’t mean that if it had counted, the score would have been 3-2, it doesn’t work like that.

I hated Sweden because of this match. They forced a slow rhythm to kill Romania’ awesome style they played in the Argentina match. Yet Romanians had fairly great sheer will (especially Radocioiu who missed the Argentina match). Sweden at that time had its best team ever. They scored in that World Cup more goals than any other team. All in all good match & worth studying.

😂😂😂 la urmă realitatea e cu Stelea în poartă că era mai bun nu ajungea la pinalti era 2 la 1 punct , și încă ceva lipsea Lăcătuș, precum în 70 lipsea Dobrin și Oblemenco cei mai buni jucători români de până la Hagi, în 90 lipsește Ducadam cu el la pinalti treceam de irlandezi , și în 98 ne lipsește Craioveanu care avuse un an superb în Spania la Sevilia dacă nu mă înșel plus pinalti fals dat croaților și 2 pinalti reale ne date nouă
