Had an 89 almost identical to this one. One of the best cars I've ever owned. The dash script said: LTD Crown Victoria Country Squire. Now that's a mouthful. 13 to 15 MPG in the city, and 22-24 MPG highway. It was a great cruiser with plenty of power, road like a Lincoln and TONS of room. Then SUV's came out and you bounced all over the place and got 10 to 12 MPG. Now that's progress!!!!
Nice it’s probably worth a lot of money in 2023
One thing on my bucket list is to own one of these classic wagons

Mine too!
My parents had one in the 90s! It broke it half. Love to see this!!
I have two of similar ages - a 1987 which I have owned since June of 1988 and has 247,000.0 miles and a 1991 LX model that has only 12,000.0 miles since a complete restoration in 2020. Neither of them are Country Squire models as the vinyl wood siding does not hold up well as your examination of your subject vehicle illustrates . Other than that these are great cars that do hold up well and give good service and a terrific ride. The 1991 is the last year that Ford made the big wagon but I have obtained up to 23 mpg on the highway with the 1991 and 22mpg with the 1987. I hope someone who appreciates these cars buys this one and restores it to it's full glory. Thanks for the video.
Those wagon Crown Vics are hard to find, like the pre-'87 coupes. This looks like it's in good condition. I have an '89 LX sedan.
Great shape still preserved on KZread

I know it's been 8 yrs but do you still have this car? I want to buy one is it worth buying?
Love that car I have a 89 LTD crown Victori love to have that car too😃
What you have, Nate, is one of the last Country Squire wagons, as it would disappear entirely with the new 1992 Crown Victoria bodystyle that was introduced in mid-1991.
LOVE these things... Just about bought one identical to this one a few weeks back but it had a lot of small problems i just didn't want to deal with....such a shame. Hopefully find one in good shape sooner or later
I own a '86 Colony Park! More classy than a new Escalade and all paid for!
man what a gorgeous wagon shame ford n gm n chrysler dont make wagons like this any more and instead they make these minivans that can sead what 7 and this wagon can seat 10 with a fair amount of mpg

I had this exact model year wagon, mine was silver with woodgrain though and had the velour (blue) cloth interior. Weird thing about it was it had a "Crown Victoria" nameplate on the dash near the glove box, but "Country Squire" elsewhere on the outside of the car. I guess Ford didnt care enough to remove the Crown Vic nameplate to seperate it from the Crown Vic line. Loved that car though but this one looks nicer than mine did.
It'll get ya to work and back for sure! Shit,I could use this wagon to haul stuff and make it a work truck. Guaranteed It'll always start!
If it had the wood trim on the outside, it’s a LTD Country Squire. If not, it’s then just a LTD Crown Victoria. So basically the name of the car is based on whether it had the wood trim or not.

Interesting interior color. reminds of of CHOCOLATE!
Very nice car. I'm not a huge fan of the refresh they did in the late 80s, I just prefer the ultra square look from before. But still a nice car.
Too bad they didn’t do it to the 1992-1996 ones like Chevy Caprice. Makes me think of how Ford discontinued minivans right before gm too.
leather wow that's great
I LIKE I LIKE !
2650, I’ll buy it!
Mustang engine 5.0 beautiful.
😁 I got one too!
WOW
Well in discussion of cars, I figure that if you want to keep a car then care for it. New cars have their perks and so do older models that aren't made so much (Beyond custom orders.) As of this posting time I'm still feeling something for this particular body type of station wagon as Father had a 1987 Caprice Estate Wagon, But the MPGs? They aren't very high. A 2000 Honda Insight would be useful for high MPGs, But it doesn't have the capability of towing like this wagon does. And this wagon doesn't have a manual transmission or a diesel engine, But that Honda has a manual transmission (though not a Diesel engine. It's a hybrid though.) So there are choices. If you have use for a wagon, Use a wagon. If you have use for a Honda, Use a Honda.

Note: I just assumed the wagon my Dad had was a 1987. On closer thought I only know it was a 1987, 1988 or 1989 model.

@@101Volts these wagons believe it or not get better fuel economy than the new Ford Explorer and Expedition.
Damn you Nathan, I had one of these. same year, same colour and the woodie lol. thought mine was a typo til I saw that sticker. said station wagon "breaks" shouldn't it be brakes? anyhoo IIRC the front upholstery is leather. front seat, rear seat, but the seats in back are vinyl.
😲😲😍😍
I want one so bad
Amazing car!!! I wish to bring it to Brazil!!!
Paint it green and it would look like the family truckster from the movie Vacation.
they use to make some quality.wander what road tax be here. those cars a good for long trips
crown and culdesac wooo
What's the chance of finding another one?
Wow, I really loved this car!!!! I have a Ford Taurus LX 1995, gold. all original parts, in excellent conditions in Rio de Janeiro. Watch my videos to check.
So what did it end up going for
Even looks a little archaic for a 1990 car. Were these things supposed to be - how do I put this? - regal or grand like Crown Victorias and such?
@roya.cathcartjr.5042

Yes the Country Squire was a replacement for the Crown Victoria wagon and the Mercury Colony Park replaced the Grand Marquis wagon. Although top of the line they were also supposed to be simplistic in design luxuries were just essentially power accessories as standard equipment versus optional such as power door locks windows and seats and a stereo with a tape player versus a simple am/fm radio.
I don't know why, but I like those wheels. They would look good on an AWD wagon.
how many times can you say great shape
is this still for sale?????
is this still available
Anyone who thinks that a Mustang is the cooler car has never spent any time in the back seat with a pretty girl. My father had a Fairmont country Squire. I used to bring it back with footprints on the headliner.
yea the wagons are damn near gone cadillac still do their wagon dont they?
This guy needs to remember to turn his ringer off when making videos.

@@CerealMarshmallowsI would have one of these from 1985 through 1990. Yes the Ford Country Squire Wagon does share parts with the Crown Victoria at least up to the rear doors.
And on top of that tell me it wasnt really a 90 too.LOL
I have 2 toe packages on my feet.
