Walk around of my new 1991 FORD LTD Country Squire wagon
My tax refund and a big job I completed gave me some extra cash, so when I found this wagon on craigslist, I had to have it. I'd been causally surfing CL for a '90 or '91 Country Squire or Colony Park for years, but never found one affordable or in good shape until now. This wagon was actually traded in by the original owners at a local Ford dealer for a new car!

cool! I've got a '91 colony park; I've been doing a lot of work to it. Things it needed --everything rubber or electrical died of old age, and both the radiator and heater core were clogged-- and things it didn't need, like a subwoofer, tach, and HO engine ;-)
My grandparents had one of these things in the early 90s. Whole damn family would pile into it, and my brother and I as kids would ride on the fold-out side-facing seats in the back. Mom hated those seats because, looking back now, they were pretty dangerous, but I thought they were so cool. Good times!
Last years of the box style! Lucky!! Great car and hope you keep it for years! I sure miss my 91 LX sedan!
WoW, What a Beautiful Land Yacht she was, great that you tried to save her, sorry for your loss.I am getting a 1988 Crown Victoria Wagon soon.I am really excited more then I would be if I got a New Car ! The last owner had her for most of her life,Bought some kinda Nissan,He is Sorry now, preferred his old ride.He is entrusting her to my care. I've been running for the last 4 years with a 92 Buick Century, that is still holding on for me,but has been through a lot of Band Aids !
The fabric seats hold up so much better than the leather. Most of the leather seats are split.
I still have one without the wood grain my kids call it the Pink Hearse! They hate it I love it!
Also thanks for the mention about the Emergency/Parking Brake turning off when switching gears, before I watched this I didn't know my 1990 Mercury has that feature.
This 1991 is the last year for the wagon bodystyle as it would be dropped entirely when the 1992 bodystyle of the LTD Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis arrived in the spring of 1991.
odometer failure is common. I drive a 90 Grand marquis LS that quit with 58975 miles. now has around 75000. My grandfather has a towncar with that motor and it has 600,000 miles on it. take care of it and it will last forever
"Clark, you're going 90 miles per hour!!" "Doesn't feel like it does it hon?!"

Hell yeah my first car was 1988 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series. Loved it so much!
my grandpa had one of these he bought it in the mid 90s last ford he ever bought
i like the bench seat seems like nothing has them anymore except some trucks
The back with the seats for extra people is legendary.
I had a '90 Country Squire LTD wagon. Great car. Thanks for the memories.
three things i'd do to it: delete the smog pump and run a shorter belt, two take out the y-pipe and buy the H-pipe to run the stock duals and get good flowing mufflers, or run none at all because they sound really good with just the 4 cats and the rest of the stock pipe, and three add the optional wagon or police sway bars so it doesn't handle like a boat, and get the cargo coil springs to keep it from sagging
My air in my colony park is ice cold too!!! Awesome!!
I would like to find an older one and build it like the family truckster from the first vacation movie! Wagon Queen all the way!
awesome car!
the last year of almost any model before they redesign them they throw in extra stuff standard that was optional in previous year models because they are trying to get rid of all the surplus parts they have.
That look's like a sweet ride! :)
lynol damn you my friend, now im looking for another one lol. theres a white squire here in town, actually 2 of them. white with wood grain. both run excellent. and a 3rd one 15 miles away withan engine in dodgy shape. but the odometer, you can find a replacement cluster once you pinpoint the the mileage you can put its replacement in. its legal. currently its a TMU, which is no big deal tbh but my friend you scored on that.
i don't know if you already know this but if you have the tailgate window down you can open it downwards instead of it opening swinging
Nice family truckster Clark
Very nice Lynol! That thing is loaded and should last you for years. The Crown Vic has always been one of Ford's best cars up until today. I hope to get a Crown Victoria sedan or a Buick Roadmaster sedan someday!!
Can we get a 2021 update? Have you kept it or sold it?
not a big ford guy myself, but that is a pretty nice looking car. the one wagon i really like is the 1966 chrysler town and country, with the 440 of course :)
Remember when they drove one of those in Terminator 2? The Family Tuckster is iconic Hollywood LOL.
Nice car but it cannot compare to your 76 Grand Safari and 76 Catalina Safari!!! Whatever happened to your 76 Grand Safari?? I was hoping to see videos on you restoring it?? I grew up with one. What do you do with all these cars?? I think I told you in another comment that I had a 76 Caprice Estate in mint condition and I barely have enough time for it... I don't know what I would do if I owned all these cars.... I guess you have to be satisfied with imperfection because it would take a fortune to fix them all up???
I'm surprised alot of new cars dont have options like this.
'91, R12? I worked on one of these and when you peel the wood grain decal off with a heat gun you'll find more surface rust around the wheel wells. Nice car for road trips. My sister in law has a '97 mercury sable wagon for christmas shopping.
You're officially a Griswold.
i love the back seats
So, are you a member at the Station Wagon Forum?
@LynolsOffice I have noticed up until like 94 or 95 is when they started to switch to plastic. I could be wrong on the years but it was somewhere around there.
Are there white walls on the other side of those tires? If there are you should switch them around, white walls really look good on a car like that. Great wagon and a great find!
I've had one of those for years!!!. And all of them have bad, non working odometers and trip odometers. The little gears in there are cheap plastic and they melt! But an easy and permanent fix is available, write me!!
a passenger side airbag athlough really rear was a special option for these cars, they weren't on the options list they had to be specially orderd.
@MrMrtiki The clear coat is peeling off. Typical problem on some cars. Nothing to do with the engine being hot.
@SeberHusky Wow thats a shame, but i understand why, like if a truck rear ended you like you said that would be brutal. Its just so chill to have that in back it deviates from the standard front facing seats. :)
GREAT FIND!!
The 4.9 is the inline 6. That's a 5.0 V8.
Now that you have a ford you'll never go back.
Does the A/C work? Also it looks like the gaps are a little excessive where the tailgate "door" meets the body near the top of the door. Hopefully it wasn't hit at some point.
nice on the inside or outside
Cool car !
Good luck finding a door panel for that!
Reminds me of national lampoons vacation, would you ever consider painting it metallic pea green? I bet those door panels are the same on a regular ltd and should be fairly easy to find, you may have to paint them to match though.
You wish they had 270hp, pretty sure they were closer to 150- ish maybe 160. It had about 270 lb-ft of torque.

+Embattledking Yea 150bhp but probably closer to 270lb-ft. Especially if it's got a Y pipe instead of duals. Nice find though I have an 85' as well. Here's a link: www.automobile-catalog.com/make/ford_usa/ltd_crown_victoria/ltd_crown_victoria_base_4-door/1990.html
I buy it, where is it, how much.

I want one
@LynolsOffice Do you know what LTD stands for? Luxury Touring Division. Anyway, sweet ride.
is that a red dodge lil red express truck? if so can you get a vid of it? thanks>
nice save. /John
You still have this car? If so, have you repaired all the defects?

I find it odd that this '91 Ford has the same map light as my '81 Buick.

A lot of accessory parts like that were sourced by Ford, GM and Chrysler from the same manufacturers. It was up to the car companies to put them in a well-assembled package that worked well as a whole.
@LynolsOffice doobie brothers ftw :)
why?, dont reverse gear work on Fords?
whats the other one 1995 Cheverolet Caprice wagon maybe?

I recall it's a 1991 or 1992 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser (if it's the same car I'm thinking of; he has a video of that Olds.)

@mjmcomputers the family truckster.lol.
XD yes it does...
are you on cvn?
So i would keep it the same in and out but drop a Supercharged Coyote out of the new mustangs....600 hp or more.........Ultimate sleeper.....than eventually drop a Nelson Racing engine in it 1100 hp.
throw a flowmaster on it
oh and that doesnt look like its a 1991 it looks like its a 1970's car
