I used to love listening to the cars disappear into the distance, going through the gears. Great video.

Thanks for the comment! I know exactly what you mean. I love hearing the sound of the engines as they go through the gears in the distance. Watching from Turn 1 at Watkins Glen and hear ring them all the way up through the back stretch ❤️

I remember this season. Back then, I thought Jean Alesi would eventually become the new Prost. Boy, was I wrong!

I think we all were wrong! After running as high as 2nd in his first race in France, and then leading for 25 laps in front of Senna at Phoenix in the Tyrrell, it was hard not to think that.

Great view, the first time I saw him in a race was from the hairpin.

I was probably there with you! The hairpin was my favorite place to watch the race.

Thanks - I was using a pretty high end camcorder and the best VHS tapes I could find. I’ve also taken pretty good care of the tapes over the last 30 years!

I love these videos! Thank you so much for sharing! 😊 My first Grand Prix I attended was Silverstone 1991, but it wasn't until 1994 that I took my Dad's video camera. I have some videos to upload from that weekend. I love listening to the different engine notes from the V8, V10 and V12 configurations. The V10s and V12 are amazing. The Ferrari has a higher pitch shriek whereas the Lamborghini in these videos sounds more like the Honda V12 from '91 and '92 with a deeper tone. The Honda and Renault V10s are fabulous too. Each amazing in their own right and also I adore the noise of the engines and gear changes in the distance.

Back when F1 cars sounded and looked like F1 cars. Not like the spaceship vacuums of todays f1 cars. the 80's and 90's best F1 cars ever. More diverse manufacturers involved, it was a sport that car companies wanted to get involved in. Now with this Hybrid stuff most of the manufacturers dont want to get into due to the huge cost of development of those units. Soon to be like NASCAR. Few big teams and the rest satellite teams. So sad

I couldn’t agree more. A real shame how far the sport has fallen.

Yup the privateer has been all but wiped out in this sport, as soon as the remaining 1-2 are gone say hello to 16-18 car grids...This sport has now become a sterilized, woke, shadow of it`s former self..
