I think “Is it over now” is about Harry Styles and is like a sister song to Out of the woods. It references some of the same things (like Harry’s snowmobile accident)and lyrics kind of go together! Also some of the production/sounds are the same as OOTW like the drums you pointed out! There is also an infamous photo of sad Taylor on a boat in a blue dress after she and Harry had a fight and she left I think.

I can't decide a final order but Is It Over Now? is consistently #1. It is just so so good. The production, the lyrics, the fucking delivery. It is just so good. For me, every single vault song sounds like it is entirely about her relationship with Harry Styles. Especially is it over now with the whole snowmobile accident. Also, you mentioned that Now That We Don't Talk seemed almost unfinished/undeveloped, and i believe that is totally intentional, because their relationship was so short. Great video!

love the reaction as always!! for is it over now, it's definitely abt harry styles. in my mind it's not so much abt mutual infidelity in a relationship, but more so a relationship that has ended without closure. he cheated on her, and now she's seeing other people, but he still keeps appearing and it's clear that they still have unresolved feelings for each other. all the girls that he dates look like her, and she feels like he's flaunting their failed relationship while she has the decency to keep their business private. not anymore, i guess! LOL. it's so fun to try to piece together what happened through taylors songs!

The songs are all about Harry styles....and harry style dining table song shows how he was sleeping with someone who looked like taylor and even almost called the girl taylor......

Everyone’s has their own interpretations and they are valid ❤ I personally think all the vault songs are about her short relationship with Harry. I think the line in Now that we don’t talk that says “it’s not platonic it’s just ended” leads me to a romantic relationship. In is it over now I think their relationship was very on again off again and she is talking about the “off times” questioning “is it actually really over or will we go back together” But the great thing is Taylor write songs that are relatable in so many different ways that people can have them fit the situation they want 💙

I really don’t see how suburban legends and now that we don’t talk are about Harry.

Really love these tracks, a lot of people say they give Midnights vibes but these feel so 1989 to me. In fact, I think many of them fit the 80's vibe more than standard tracks. That said, my ranking is: 1. Now That we don't talk (crime it is so short) 2. Say Don't Go 3. Is It over now? 4. Slut! 5. Suburban Legends I really enjoyed this rerecord. Other than Fearless, this is the TS album I really gravitated towards on initial release so have stronger feelings than I did with Red/Speak Now - it felt like Taylor reclaimed this album for her but for us as well. I think this is the best rerecord personally and people will agree once they get over some of the subtle changes.

This was sooo hard because honestly I'm not crazy about any of them yet, but here we go 1. Say don't go 2. Is it over now? 3. Now that we don't talk 4. "Slut!" 5. Suburban legends

Once you listen to “is it over now”, you have to listen to Harry Styles From the dining table!” I think Taylor wanted him to love her and be exclusive but I don’t think Harry was ready to be vulnerable yet. I think a couple of the other vaults are also clearly about Harry too.

Definitely think they’re all about him. In Suburban Legends she’s ignoring the red flags and knows he has messed her up for other guys. He’s so cool and she has never felt that way so she’s fantasizing about taking him to her high school reunion. She knew they would be suburban legends (rather than urban legends) not only as a couple because they’d be popular with all the kids, but because they both came from small towns and became something big.

Heartbreaks and Heartaches is insane in this vault tracks 😭💙

i think is it over now (which is definitely my favorite of the vault tracks!) is about a relationship that ended on really uncertain terms and both of them keep trying to move on with new people but realize they keep missing each other and searching for one another in new relationships. and maybe she’s even realizing that she’s jealous of his new partners and thinking like if i still care so much and both of us are still searching for a way to get back at each other then clearly we’re both still hung up on this so is it even actually over

So hard to rank. They are all wonderful and addictive. Is it Over Now? is definitely a consistent #1 for me. I am big slut for Slut! so that is my #2. then Say Don't Go, Now that we Don't Talk, Suburban Legends. Definitely a lot of Haylor lore in these songs. Here for it.

The order for me is Now That We Don't Talk, Say Don't Go, Is It Over Now, Suburban Legends and Slut! It's ironic that the last song on my list is Slut! because that one was the one that I wanted to listen to the most before Friday, but it's not that I don't like it because I do, but the other songs captured my attention so much more.

I wish Now That We Don't Talk was longer, but I also like that it's short and to the point and kind of just feels like an interlude! Also just as a lore fill in, all of these songs are very much a comment on hers and Harry Styles relationship and the criticism that she got from his fans at the time! She refers to very specific moments of their relationship in all of the songs! 🤗

I agree that these tracks flesh out the details of 1989 story and were too spicy for 2014 Taylor. The label and Mama Swift were probably like no way! Of course that story is mostly about Harry so we get the juicy bits of her inner thoughts now and she doesn’t hold back. She goes from being in love and knowing she’s going to pay a price and saying he will love her. Then he isn’t ready to say it and she’s got a foot out the door but is holding out hope he will say don’t go. Clearly he doesn’t because now the aren’t talking and she’s watching him change from afar…and not in ways she likes. (Now That We Don’t Talk isn’t about a friend. She says specifically that they cannot be platonic) In Suburban Legends she’s remembering all the red flags and how she never felt cool around him. She wrote about him in her diary and even fantasized about taking him to her high school reunion. She knew their relationship was the stuff of legend, especially among the suburban kids. (I mean we’re all still talking about it now!). He just drifted away and never actually ended it…perhaps it was on and off for awhile. So now she’s wondering is it finally over? He dated people and she could see it openly. She dated some people. Maybe he kept coming back around or maybe she never really got over him. She just has a Question?
