Dude those og's are in AMAZING condition. I've seen bubbles look waaaaaaay more disintegrated then those that aren't even half the age. Good job keeping them in such good condition. Good af video

I BEGGED my parents for the AJ 4s. They told me "get a paper route." So I did. But by the time I got trained & collected first month... the 4s were out of stores. So my first pair was the black 5s on release date. I was thrilled regardless... especially that shiny tongue. All the kids in my neighborhood were still rocking the 4s ha ha. Now my bucket list is the AJ white cement 4s.... I have the first retro militaries (2004?) and the 2012 blacks (so so..)... I missed the white 4s in 2016 due to a layoff. Anyone know the best reseller online these days for Iordans?

@@AnHebrewChild Nowadays you're only routes would be the webites goat and stockx. I personally only use goat since they seem to have the better reputation. They will cost a premium but they are legit.

There can only be one MJ, so as his shoes, there can only be one OGs. Just a shame NIKE could not recreate the OGs the way it was before considering the modern day tech and all we have today, there's just no justice. Well, what an utter beauty all these OGs are.

@@Longenecker1776 not a whole lot of 0G 4 fire reds out there and especially ds very scarce. Yes, the heel cushioning is very soft. Most heavily worn pairs you see have holes in the back. Material was a bit too soft for heavy wear.

Love the fact that you highlighted the height comparison on these! most important aspect of modern 4s to me. hopefully JB gets the heel tab & height right on the MB4s & WC4s next release.

The white cement 4’s were the Jordan that started it for me but like your parents mine were the same way and were not dropping 110 plus tax on some shoes for a 11 year old. They did get me a pair of air flight 89 highs but that was only because they were on sale but I was happy with those till I got my first pair of Jordan’s which were the black metallic 5’s. I had finally talked my mom into getting me a pair of 4’s but when we got their they didn’t have the white cements in my size so I was gonna get the fire reds but the guy at the store toLHD us the new Jordans just ca,e out and as soon as he showed me the black metallics it was a wrap and I had to get them. They were so insane looking cause it was the first shoe to have the 3 m tongue and clear bottoms and the clear lace locks. As far as these fire red retros it’s cool to see that Jordan is really starting to pay attention to the smaller details and getting them closer to the original. I hated the way they were doing the tongues of the 3’s and 4’s and not wrapping the leather to the back.The toe box is a little better than it was but it’s still got a way to go but overall they look decent. Now if they could only fix the elephant print on the 3’s and not make it so bold and lower it and fix the funky looking ankle collar I’d be happy.

Very nice man, thanks for sharing! Love the flight '89.. sounds like me hitting the sales rack as well hah. Always tons of 🔥🔥 to pick from older nike models. Loved the black metallic 5, again denied of any Jordan's till I shed some tears to get my black infrared 6 in '91. Wish I did it earlier lol.. my cousins boyfriend had the fire red 3m tongues I would gawk at them haha.. felt so good to get those 6s though!

@@ogorbust1697 I hear you bro. I did the same thing with a kid that had the white cement 4’s. I would stare at those shoes all day and wanted them so bad but never got the chance to get them. I did though get the 99 retro when those came out which were nice but I didn’t like that they didn’t have as much cement splatter like the originals but I loved them anyway. You definitely have a beautiful collection and just subbed to see what you bust out next.

1989, Hampstead school, London : we were all smoking behind the drama block as we did every break time and then Tomi appeared wearing the first pair of Jordan IV´s I ever saw. I dont think I have ever been moved so much by a single design as I was in that moment. (They also looked amazing with the trousers that his mum had made him - true - she's amazing) I didn't have the money to buy them but one day I stole them when on Acid. Best walk I ever had..It was like having supercharged feet. The retros never get it right imo. God is in the details, man.

Cool vid - solid comparison and observations. Your 2020 pair looks clean and even from what I can tell - NICE. Mine are uneven at the front leather panel just about the midsole - right shoe is a higher cut compared to the left.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear that. I've heard and seen many people having issues with this release. I grabbed two pairs and both are really good, this pair was a bit cleaner so used it in the video. Disappointing to hear so many people complaining when such an iconic shoe re released with Nike for the first time and at the price point.

I actually like the branding alignment on the heel of the OG a little more than the remaster. But I’ll take either one to be dead honest. They getting a lot better with the toe box. Still not as tapered as the original but much better than past drops. I’m pretty sure the materials on the remasters are definitely better than the OG, just like you said.

I wish Jordan Brand retro the 4s with a wider and taller collar like the OGs. The OGs looked so much better with the higher collar. I never liked how the back tab was taller on the retros and how they dug into my ankles, smh.

The 4s are a model they continue to mess up. One detail fixed and then they mess up another that was just fine.

OG's have that crocodile snout...the 2020 alligator. Pointed vs round toe box.

I’m 39 and wanted a pair when I was a kid, but my mum couldn’t afford to buy me them which at the time I was upset about, but when I got older and understood the value of money I felt bad for nagging my mum to buy me them as my dad didn’t give my mum any money for me and my sister and my mum had to work 2 jobs to look after me and my sister and she done a damn good job even though money was always tight 😃

Yeah man, the top tier Nikes and Jordan's weren't cheap! Had to go all in for Christmas to get a pair and well worth the wait! Probably why I cherished them so much too and still have them they weren't just given at any time. Truly special.

Waou, those 89 OG are nuts. The retros are dope but cant compare with those,. The shape is much better, from the front (less higher and the round net) to the less higher black heel tag. And damn i love the wider heel (and so thé muche better centered nike air), i think this is the more important point jordan brand need to reproduce on the 4 to be more close to the OG perfection. This heel low and wide is the 4th signature. Anyway congrats dude.

They did the 3s kinda light if you look at my video. Mjs gamer heel tabs way more oxidized, they definitely went with a lighter shade like 94 retro you could say for the wc3

I've seen both hang tags come from OG 4s actually. This one was from my black/cement 4. So quite possible they came both ways from what I've found.

Netting is pretty close, they got the angle right i think it looks good. Part that they really messed up on is size and shape of netting on toe box so small and weird shape on 2020. Makes the front of the shoe on the og along with sleek toe box. Ankle area a bit more snug and firm padded on the 2020. Og is a bit wider and softer. Maybe too soft as you see worn ogs usually have a rip in the heel from slipping on and off

Sorry i'm 2yrs behind.... I just copped these and yes i paid a hefty price but it was worth it. Yeah i know where was i the last 2 yrs. I guess sleeping in the closet...lol. Anyways i notice the tongue on the AJ 4 retros seems much taller than the originals which I don't mind. Other than that I'm glad i get to finally own a pair. It does have somewhat of a snuggly fit but i can get use to it. Instead of the Jump Man logo they put the Nike Air Logo. Nike definately got that one right. This definately one of MJ's most iconic kicks !!

Nike Air looks so much better on the OG. Way smaller and more centered. I skipped the bred 4s because of that and I'm kinda on the fence with the 2020 Fire Reds. Didn't pull the trigger yet. Might buy another Fire Red 5 instead and of course the Carmine 6 next year!

Fire reds are definitely a step up from black cement. A few details they messed up from black cement but a must have retro for me. Og heel and tab just wider and smaller font, they try centering larger font and smaller tab on the black cement. At least this 2020 fr it is centered better. Still, OG looks the best easily

Definitely better than 2012, most similar id say to 2016 white cement 4.

So sad that they couldn’t get these right back then. Nike should have plenty of reference materials on hand to do it right.

A lot of people do! They really dropped the ball with quality control on this release. Got my pair yesterday from snkrs, right shoe perfect, the left shoe..damn, the leather on the toebox and sidepanels is so creased, your 89 pair looks better then my 2020’s

@@ogorbust1697 Yeah I did. The Black paint on midsoles have Hella brush strokes in em and I see white speckles on the black part of midsoles too. Like they didn't put enuff paint on it to cover the white midsole. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ Reminds me of the 2016 True Blue 3s as far as craftsmanship goes. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Ah man, so unfortunate. That was another issue I had with 2019 black cements. Paint on midsole looked like woodgrain. 2020 aren't perfect but not as obvious on pairs I grabbed.

The. slim toebox is what creates the DS creasing, so it's never going to get better than this...they could barely pull this off without everyone freaking out.

@@kurtasa3884 gotta disagree. Shoes will crease no matter what but having a bulbous toe will always have shoes end up looking like clown shoes. The slim toes from the OG shoes never had that problem. Tho I agree people freak out and maybe its a little too nitpicky when people complain about slimmer toes but that's what some of us dream of, having the shoes fit exactly like they did in 1989. If some are ok with them falling a little short, then that's fine too man. Definitely acknowledge the fact they've made HUGE improvements from the 4s from a few years ago though.

You forgot that OG tongues of III and IVs are shorter compared to the retros, even on the remasters/recent releases. They could never get the exact replica.

@@ogorbust1697 I understand their reasoning to imphasize the display of jumpman logo but the shoe looks imbalanced. They need to stop it.

The biggest issues I wish they would change is the heal shape should be narrow (still too wide from the rear) plus the air font on the heal tab is too big. The height of the rear still needs to be higher, and the toe box netting shape. If they fixed them id be happy with the other small details that are off. It would be nice if they went back to the thicker weave shoelaces too.

Nike font too large on heel is definitely the issue of centering. OG tab is slightly larger overall and nike branding slightly smaller. If they just raised the height of the shoe in line with the tab it would've been pretty damn close.

Very interesting question. I'd say they aren't too far about but will have to weigh them both and see. Good thought!

We all understand now that nike will not be able to make retros 100% identical with OGs but....why leather ????? Please give us something close to durabuck,something synthetic 🙏🙏🙏 Hard pass on that one.

I’ve never liked how the retro’s tongues are so long. If they get the toe shape right, the toe netting the right shape/size and make the tongue the correct length I’d get another pair. Otherwise, they still look odd to my eye.

Nope, these are durabuck as well as white cement. Military 4 was leather.

Most Air Jordans from the 90s that appear leather is actually durabuck with a suede or leather print embossed on top of the material to make it feel and look genuine. Apparently the material was supposedly more durable and easier to clean; however, the pairs with the leather embossed durabuck cracked horribly and didn’t hold up as well as the pairs with the suede embossed durabuck.

​@@darnayblue3081 Interesting. Thanks!! I thought that the "durabuk" material was only for the versions with a "nubuck" finish (IV Black Cement, V Black Metallic Sliver, VI Black Infrared, ...). But in the end, durabuck was only the hide side of the iceberg, and NIKE was able to cover it with finishing surface they wanted (like suede look-like, leather look-like, ...). Right?

🤣 it was our modem I think the problem is fixed, some weird frequency we noticed on some videos couldn't figure out at first

@@ogorbust1697 honestly I ALWAYS hated the yellowing even back in the day I always wanted my gym 👟's looking brand new so not knowing what I know now I would bleach them with tooth 🖌's to make them pisser yellow 🤦🏿‍♂️ plus throw all my O.G.'s in garage when they turned beaters whoever 💭 they would be worth hella 💰 in 2020 🤦🏿‍♂️😭

Mane, I got em but the left shoe is different, the stitching of the side panel is higher and the stitching on the back heel right shoe is higher. So disappointed!!😞 Did anybody had this issue? Is crazy to spend 200+ in a shoe and have this issues. Is just unaceptable

Doesn’t make sense. Iirc the bc and wc came wit the bubble tag. And they are never going to be able to get the toe box right. Af1 toe box is annoying.
