Right! People, still complaining about the natural creasing from actual real cow hide leather used for their $200 pair of jordans. Those concerns baffle me when the shoes are going to crease when walking in them anyway. That’s a clear partial indication of how authentic the quality of the shoe is. Now if stitching is off, or glue stains, paint issues or even build and shape of the shoes is the main concern then I get it. I can care dafuq less about creasing that will occur once you rock em. They’re mass produced so the resale value is literally “a dollar over lunch money”....not by much!

Great video DJ. Sorry it took so long to check it out. I missed on these too, had one bar of service at work. I had same quality issue with my Last Dance shock drop Fire Red 5s. Oh well. Can't wait to grab these in a few weeks.

Hello again, better late then never seeing this video. I plan on picking these up at StockX. I think these are great. So on the orange Nike tag, I would like to share that I slip this on my Nike Air elite golf bag along with my elite XL back pack. Added Nike touch of style for me. Thanks again for the review. I think the extra tight cuts, especially the toe being much more sleek than any recent 4 I can think of must make production more difficult, which is why we're seeing more flaws. As for B-grades being shocked dropped. You could be right. It's also possible that since its such a mass release with so many pairs, production was rushed. GR's tend to be going this way lately.

@DNASHOW I just got mine and they came out good no glue marks or creases so maybe QC on some pairs were missed. Great vid.

Wrong!!!!!!! Jordans has never ever been "great quality" JB has been using cheap ass materials since day one! I got all of the 99 4s DS and I can tell you right now saying that any of them are great quality would be a crime! Any and every pair of Jordan that's ever been made has never been "great quality" if you ever stored them you would know where I'm coming from.

Rediculous. All the $ we pay. They should get the sh!t right. Take there time don't put so many sneaker out in one year. We used to get one model a year. Maybe 3 to 4 colorways. I remember quality back then. Probably cause they weren't overdoing the sh!t.

Maybe they shock dropped the pairs that have some QC control? Probably not but when you have glue stains and flaws like that, it might mean they had to make a ton of pairs and had to get them done quickly. Hopefully everyone will be able to get them in November. Cool video and review man.

I think the size 13 back tab is just bigger. I like the black stripe behind the laces. Breaking up the white makes it looks better on toe for me. But man.. these defects aren't flying with me. I am also "nit-picky". Lol Big ups DJ, you the man!

Those joints are 🔥🔥🔥I missed out on the shock drop but I have a pre order secured!!! A lot of people mentioned the defects they had on their sneakers, it's almost like they shock dropped B Grade or defective sneakers, so NOT COOL for the price. 3 for 3 this week after not hitting on snkrs since the fire red 5s. Red 4 of white 5s and mocha 1s. Didnt really notice anything off with my pair but will do another once over to check them out

These are mass produced. They will have defects. This type of leather wrinkles and creases very fast. Just a heads up before people drop $200. If that stuff doesn’t bother you, go for it.

One more complaint: Started my return Friday because Nike told me that they cannot replace the shoe because it’s sold out and that they would have to refund me my money. My issue was scuff marks on the back right heel and glue separation on the front right midsole. As well as little black glue specs around the edges... I don’t understand but I do believe what you said the shock drop was to get rid of B grade shoes??! Again glad to know that I’m not alone😕🤷🏽‍♂️

I thought I was the only one with a bad pair 😂 Definitely returning! My mid soles are even fckd up. The black part is uneven with dips and scratches all around. Next day edit: I called Nike for an exchange, same pair/same size. They said as soon as they get the noti that I shipped back the pair I have now, then they’ll send the exchange. I feel like they’re trying to confirm real manual accounts with this drop, to identify potential bots.

I may double up on these I copped early and love em.... some glue on one of my shoes and it’s not size diff being 10s vs 13s for heel tab I wear a 14 and it is smaller from me looking but this is my 1st ever 4 so I wouldn’t have known the diff

Minor creasing and little glue spots don’t bother me, creasing gonna happen anyway with wear but if it’s a big ass crease or scuffed big noticeable differences I’d be upset other than that it’s a cop cause I know every pair isn’t going to be superb

I hope these had as well air bubbles located inside the instep of the midsole part. Back when my 2012 pair went on some crumblin, it went off and it was the reason for some of that bouncy foamy feeling when worn.

They charge an arm and leg for these shoes anymore, Nike step the quality-control up please!!! You don't know how sad it is being broke, saving some cash for some shoes, and then you get them and there all f***** up☹

My left toe box has creases but when I put the shoe on you can Hardly tell they’re even there. I’m not mad at it!

Wish they used the Oreo 4 leathers on all the retros or the pine green/black 1's the buttery leather that you wont care creases is where its at.

I just got my pair this January 2021. I stopped by my local Nike and was really shocked to see Fire Red 4s just sitting on the shelves. Apparently they had a restock that same day, and since I was very early and no one else was around, I easily got a pair for retail haha. I’m just very happy that I got a pair, but even the restock pairs still have the same issues as the shock drop pairs. The left shoe of my Fire Red 4s is absolutely perfect, but the right shoe is messed up. 1st there were marks for I guess when they were cutting the leather, but it was a very easy clean. 2nd, and this thing still bugs me, is that on the right shoe, the toebox is uneven, like you can see bumps on the leather and when you run your fingers across the toebox you can definitely feel that its uneven and bumpy. The left shoe on my pair definitely looks and feels like a b-grade, made for outlets, sneaker. I don’t mind creases, cause leather shoes will crease eventually, but having uneven and bumpy leather on the toebox right off the shelves, it just doesn’t look nor feel good. My theory, Nike still had alot of reject pairs so those are the pairs they used for the shock drop last year and the surprise restock this year. Again, I’m still very happy to have gotten a pair after missing out on release, but c’mon Nike, I expect better quality control esp for a $200 sneaker.

I don't mind some minor creases. I had 2 pairs of the what the's and one had a bent back tab and the other one's wings didn't line up with the lace holes.

I think they shipped all the B grade shoes out cause I got my pair in store and my shoes were in good condition no scratches just a lil baby crease but I got it out

I got a W on these and they’re 🔥, but the PSG 4s leather quality feels better.

I sent a pair of 2018 Concord 11s back to NIKE they were so flawed knowing they were to sell out and that I would have to pay resale for a replacement, G's I hope I can cop a pair and a decent pair or their going back too SMH.

Thank you DNA for making such a great review. I do agree that the quality on the 2012 release was crap. Now the heel tabs and wing tabs on my pair are already cracked up and I don’t have a choice but to dump that shit off. Hoping I could cop one soon. Big fan from the Philippines yo!

I’m happy with my pair. The slight creases of the “baby calf leather” used for upper gives the shoe more character. The leather used for these have a natural broken in look due to the soft texture and pre treatment process the leather went through before building the upper around the foot mold. Nike wouldn’t release B grade Quality products without indicating that as it would violate quality control standards & regulations upon shipment from the supply chain. This is also why the leather would have a smooth appearance on one shoe but possibly have the creasing wrinkled look on another due the leather’s natural structure. I work in leather goods and men’s designer shoes so it’s easy for me to distinguish the difference between full grain leather (a slither of real calf on top of man made materials) vs baby calf (very soft and wrinkly structured leather) to the high quality elder calf leather used in top end shoes which appears to be more firmer and stiffer or harder.....PAUSE ....to break in.

@@harishkugathasan7087 most shoe brands online have to indicate what materials are used for their products. It’s the law. Also for in store inquiries, you would need to talk to someone who works in high end leather goods because there’s emphasis on quality of build & knowing the different grade leather textures, age & how to treat it which is super important. Nowadays for hardcore vegans It’s challenging because brands know that synthetic leathers deteriorate and lose durability in their quality very quickly. And most brands now are moving away from the synthetics and settling for cloth/vegan friendly fabrics to substitute for those customers. A lot of these sneakers are made with a blend of full grain leather but supported by some man made leather like materials to give structure. But with Jordan’s, it’s mostly built with higher quality calf leather uppers. It all depends on which age calf is used for that model. Nike know this and would much rather supple and demand with quality products. This will partially explain why Nike/Jordan’s and any other premium products price point has creeped up a bit over the years.

does it matter when it comes to the box with the LOGOS??? i mean every shoould at least 4 of every box by now lol. since they did a shock drop i already knew i was passing. i dont want a shoe full of creases without me wearing BRAND NEW. Do you think the shock drop was the B grades they were selling.

My box lid came with a huge hole in it. Looks like a fire extinguisher landed on it.

Get a 12.5 i wear a 12 in most things but Js have to go up a half sz in the new retros

My psg’s came a lil fucked up also 🤦🏽‍♂️

The fact this shock drop batch might be B grades makes me feel better about missing out and having to wait on the official release.

This batch...let’s see maybe 50-60 thousand pairs made for the early release are certainly not B grades, or otherwise for Nike, it would go against domestic and international quality control regulations & standards. and by governed QC law requirements Nike has to indicate that by stamping B grade in their footwear or any other products of said case. And the leather used for these is baby calfskin hide leather. By the soft and already wrinkled characteristics of baby calfskin leather, it’s mildly treated once cut, dried then painted over and dried again, hung and then precut and fitted around a foot mold to build the upper which stretches and distorts the texture of the leather a bit but gives the finished product a slightly broken in look. Let’s face it, if you’re buying and rockin them, they’re gonna crease anyway. 🤷🏽‍♂️unless you one of those types to either walk weird and shit to avoid creasing even more or put those stupid ass crease protectors in them fucking up the shoes and your feet overtime. 🤦🏽‍♂️

And shoe and sneaker connoisseurs like myself can spot fakes, UA’s and B grades a mile away. and to be honest, some of them UA’s be having better quality standards than some of the authentic versions or B grades alone, but when you in the industry you see things differently. If you got just rock and have no fucks about the creasing unless you flippin! ✌🏽

This was my first pair of jbones in 89.

I bought a pair of candy cane 14s and sold those the same day. Compared these to my 06 mars and huge difference from the netting, laces, tab height, tongue, in other words il take my 06 mars over these hands down
