After months of speculation, teasing, and early releases, the Air Jordan 1 “Lost & Found” (simply the “Chicago” according to NIKE, Inc.) finally sees its wide drop at retail tomorrow, November 19th. The shoe needs no introduction, having taken over social media feeds and sneaker-related headlines over the majority of 2022. First thought of as the “Chicago Reimagined,” the offering turned out to be a much more conceptual project, allowing Jordan Brand to flex its creative and story-telling muscles all while listening to its consumers’ demands for a re-release of the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago”. Rumor has it a one-to-one retro of the original “White/University Red/Black” sneaker will release sometime after 2026 as an ‘85 offering, but that’s still a way’s out and the “Lost & Founds” are here tomorrow, November 19th. It’s very likely that some members of the sneaker community-at-large will paint over the “cracked” and “aged” components on the pair to have it resemble a pristine “Chicago” Air Jordan, but that would defeat the purpose of the shoe. Why is the leather on the “Lost & Found” cracked? Because it helps tell an important part of Michael Jordan’s signature sneaker legacy. NIKE, Inc. tells shops what product they’re able to carry today, but in 1985, the Oregon-based company had to sell established, well-respected “mom-and-pop” shops across the U.S. on why they should clear out shelf space for the first signature sneaker for a young athlete who hadn’t yet proven himself on the NBA hardwood. Originally priced at $65, the Air Jordan 1 was a gamble to a lot of store owners, with some ultimately paying the price by having to heavily discount their stock once it didn’t sell. Due to logistical oversights or lack of consumer interest, some of these initial product runs got lost in stockrooms, under office desks, and amongst a plethora of other footwear options. Some “dead stock” product (yes, that’s how the term came about) was eventually unearthed with the help of sneaker enthusiasts with an insatiable hunger for old school product, and often in large quantities. But these sneakers were often no longer in their original presentation. Mismatched tops were placed on shoe boxes, sneakers were wrapped with outdated newspaper, and the shoes themselves were dusted off after spending however long unworn and unlaced in their “coffin”. This story of decades-past-before the Nike SNKRS App, Stadium Goods, StockX-is one that played an important role in the Air Jordan line’s-and sneaker culture-at-large-growth. There will (likely) never be another Michael Jordan, just like they’ll (likely) never be another Air Jordan 1. The “Lost & Founds”, then, capture a unique moment in history that’s more than about shoes. The sneaker “game”-including the very roll-out of the “Lost & Found” 1s-has possibly been the most superficial than it’s ever been. And let’s face it: we consumers are partly to blame, but when the brands happen to get it (mostly) right (because we can’t ignore the Swoosh’s shift to Direct to Consumer and impact on the very “mom-and-pop” shops at the center of the “Lost & Found” story), we should recognize and celebrate them. Whether or not you successfully buy the “Lost & Found” Jordan 1 tomorrow, November 19th, consider giving a second thought on your consumer behavior, participation in the sneaker space-at-large, and own story. You’ll never have this moment again.

Great content as what we’ve come to expect from DNA channel and I must admit I was salty when I first found out this was the final product that of which we would be receiving but to my surprise after getting them in hand hold them thinking of what MJ did when he entered the league and how iconic this particular show model has become legendary I could actually feel the story coming alive while I held the shoe in hand kinda like an outta body experience 😂 grateful I was able to double up so maybe next release JB will give it to us with ultra premium butter materials with a bright vibrant varsity red but anyways my brother love the vid keep flying high until next time ✌🏾

Simply here to say I hit on snkrs today even with all the chaos with the app crashing and taking forever to confirm my pair.

I bought my SBBs & 2015 Chicago 1s in 2019 before the pandemic and before that documentary. I paid a fair bit for both pairs but the prices now are waay more than double what I paid 😏 its crazy tbh. I am also now paying resale for the L & Fs and actually paid waay more for the Varisty Red High 85 limited to 23,000 pairs and that is kinda strange imo.

I respect you’re input, and views. But the 1”s are overrated in my eye. I’m a old head (45), and I was 8 when they came out. I was thee only one on my block that did not like the OG”s. When I was at Kicktz 1993 in munich yesterday, there where hundreds of people signing for the Raffle for... these...🤷♂️ Easy pass for me, don't like the aged look and the fact that these are not the 85 cut... Bought the Patta 7's instead, they had this pair sitting on the shelf for years, someone returned em because of "quality issues"... I still haven't figured out what the pre owner meant, maybe a bit of glue at the side but thats pretty much it...🤷♂️

I lost and found out!!! Its all good though, i did have a huge feeling and a dream that i wasnt getting selected, so i was already prepared, I went ahead and ordered the og high heritages!! Im waiting for January anyways for when the true blues drop! THOSE i like alot better personally! I also have a hard time wearing red, because i live in a “blue” neighborhood, if you know what i mean. Congrats to all who got the L&Fs!!

I got the L too, we live on for more sweet drops! So i got the OG high heritages and im really happy!! I wanted the L&Fs as a daily because they are already alittle beat, but its one thing my brother said, due to there being a half a mill, you are going to see ALOT of people in them, so they have lost there uniqueness at that point, and my brother and I wear more unique pairs, or slept on pairs! Its just cool to have those classics though, so i feel the L just a tad bit too. Im just glad i have been moving up in life to be able to afford Js now, i never could get them when i was younger!

@@DJ4000VOLT bro it does not matter how many pairs were released because people from all over the world are buying them it’s not like everyone’s gonna have them because you have to keep in mind there’s gonna be people with tons of pairs reselling them all over the world plus the population density of where you live plus how many people even have good taste in shoes like this or are even interested. Over a million pair of concord 11s were dropped, I think I’ve only ever seen them a few times in my life. You don’t just go out in public and see people rockin Jordans nowadays the taste in style has dropped in this new generation sadly. Chicago’s are arguably the best Jordan or even sneaker ever made to many sneaker heads all around the world and these will easily be $1,000+ next year if you keep them in the box. Buy it for a solid resale price while you can 🤷♂️ Glad to hear you’re at a point in life where you can buy them now, congratulations on pushing through all of your battles and struggles God bless 🤞

0:54 As I look at this Jordan chart I realize I stopped buying Jordan's after grabbing the 17's for $200. (20 years ago) I remember they came in a briefcase and my daughter's Mother was mad at me for spending that much. I have not bought Jordan's until the end of last year. (I'm single ) Now I have 9 pairs of Jordan's in my collection.
