Restoring TRASHED Air Jordan 1's Lost and Found
The most trashed pair of Lost and Founds we have ever seen! The owner of these kicks wore them to the ground and tried to restore them himself, but ultimately it ended in a botched restoration! This led him to send his favorite kicks into the one and only Vick Almighty to save the day. In today's Customs and Restorations Vick will walk you through how to restore these trashed Lost and Found Air Jordan 1's!
When starting a restoration you have to have a clean base! The first step of the restoration was to properly deep clean it using the RESHOEVN8R Signature Shoe Cleaning Kit. This allowed us to remove all of the dirt, grime, odor and it also allowed us to reshape the sneaker. For the cleaning process Vick used the Soft Bristle Brush to fully break down the dirt from the leather material, but he was a little worried about the sneaker bleeding! The Lost and Found Jordan 1 has a history of bleeding from the red, so BE careful when cleaning these kicks!
After the uppers were all taken care of it was time to move onto the next part of the shoe cleaning and move onto the midsole and outsole. However, here is where Vick noticed the first issue from this botched resto. The white paint from the previous repaint had completely come off and went all over the sneaker... With that being said we just have to hope for the best!
The last step of the cleaning process was to use the washing machine to remove the rest of the dirt. The sneaker did bleed into the stitching unfortunately, but it was necessary to clean this shoe properly. Now if you or someone you know has a pair of Lost and Found Jordan 1s we do not recommend the washing machine due to that color bleed potential!
With the cleaning out of the way it was time to move onto the restoration. First Vick removed that dyed stitching and had to remove the rest of the caked on paint from the previous restoration. One tip Vick used in this video that you might not know is that UV rays can help remove oxidation on white sneakers and materials even without a unyellowing agent!
Now we move onto the repaint... As always the first step of the repaint is the prepwork. This is the most tedious, but important part of the job. For this we used sand paper and acetone to fully prep the uppers for a fresh new coat of paint. Once the prep was completed it was time to replace the stitch on the soles. Before we repainted the sneaker Vick chose to focus on a couple different details of the sneaker. Such as, replacing the insoles using an extra pair from the sneaker graveyard and removing creasing using the iron method!
The repaint was going to be the most important part of this project and the key to making this sneaker look like it was fresh out the box. All 3 colors needed to be repainted, so it was very important that Vick took his time and allowed each color to dry before moving onto the next color. Overall the paint job took a lot of time, but it transformed these kicks!

@@yankeesfn2 no shit but I have shoes I’ve worn for over 10 years that still look brand new cause at least I know how to clean my shoes😂I have 1985 bred 1s that are cleaner than his that I’ve owned from 2012. Wearing shoes and destroying shoes are two different things

Nothing beats a worn pair of Jordan 1s. Theres just something about them.
The Bred Jordan 4 Re-imagined are by far the best ones of the re-imagined. By definition of the word, I think the executed the best here.

My favourite re-imagined is a toss up between the Bred 4's and the lost and founds. I may have to go with the Bred 4's considering they don't bleed and you can basically wear them all year round. This restoration however was amazing! When I saw the condition these were in I was not expecting the end result. Vic is truly and genius!

My favorite reimagined sneaker is the royal Jordan 1s because it is a unique shoe and it does not have leather like the other reimagined sneakers and it is very cheap and affordable❤

dang Vic, about a year too late for these for me :( I got my lost & Founds way back in January of 2023 and these kind of had a similar situation but maybe I can try this with my own Reshoevn8r kit!

Is there anyone yall recommend to restore sneakers? I’m in the down town phoenix area it’s just cracked paint and yellowing rubber on my black cement 3s
Dam those a more recent shoe thought you wanted older one's lol that's why I sent for my Chicago lows to be saved there beginning to separate an need some new paint and nike laces and I honestly like the yellowish sole help my lows Vik u haven't done any of those yet on here at least lol

I have a pair of Origin Story 1’s in my collection that I’m afraid to touch. One of the shoes has a scratch on the heel panel and it makes me cry cause I can unsee it 😭. I wouldn’t mind shipping them to you Vick! 🙏

Suede is a very hard material to clean, but if you protect them with Water + Stain Repellent prior it will help
My ❓ is, what would be more economically savvy? Going through your cleaning service to restore the sneakers or buying a new pair, even at resale value?
You suppose wear them shoes. Enjoy it well you can. It will get beat up. Yet, it will age well overtime. Excellent video.

The lost and founds were just not good like my 2015. My 2015 still hasn’t even yellowed yet. The lost and founds aren’t nice had to sell my lost and founds. Hate the crack leather especially on the black cause it just makes the shoe look ashy from afar. Also hate they made the lost and founds shorter than my 2015 Chicagos. Also I don’t like how the red on the lost and founds bleed when cleaning but my 2015 red doesn’t bleed.

It is all about the quality and the quality on those 2 pairs are very different
In my opinion the heel collar should’ve been regular leather or like a nubuck with the rest of the shoe being cracked leather.
Put saloncare on the stitching but don't cover it up and don't put it in sunlight, just let it sit for a day, that would remove the dye.
