so satisfyingly good to watch ... Audi is very clever ...

Here in Australia the exact same thing happened a few years later in 1992 when the Nissan R32 GTR was making the GM (Holden) and Ford Group A (International Racing Formula) racing cars look stupid. So after being beaten at Bathurst on their home turf by Rover, Volvo, Jaguar and Nissan, the rules were changed to only allow RWD V8 based cars which turned the best factory based tintop racing series in the World at the time, into a Ford vs GM snorefest. American car companies only like competing with each other.

If you can't beat them even when you've hobbled them .......... then ban them for next season. SCCA really spat out its dummy and threw its toys out of the cot in 1988 and banned all non US engined cars and banned FWD for 1989. Sour grapes lads. Trans-Am returned to being a Mickey-Mouse series.

Typical , the Americans penalize the Audi's ....... GM loves to play in their own backyard ..... GM has never been big playing on the world stage ....... And American racing love to bend the rules in favour of American car companies and stick it to the non-American car companies ...........

Not much competition for the Audi's..... but you got to give it to the the other drivers they’re giving it their best, thats a wet track and they’re doing a dam good job just to stay on the track..
