I was happy for him he deserved this win
Época de ouro da verdadeira Indy !!!
Some of you say this race was overshadowed by Grant Adcox’s death but they never mentioned during the broadcast he had lost his life so that’s not the case
Oh yea! Green Valley, Where I started racing in 1963 with my Lotas 11 La Mans then in 64 I bought my 1962 Shelby Cobra and ran at Green Valley every chance I got. Drove the Cobra through the run offs in 1967 and figured out what it was worth. Traded an old AH Sprite to a friend for his 65 Mustang coupe which ran Trans Am. Ran it off and on for several years. When they had the first "Trans Am" in 66/67? I was chief if timing and scoring and built the new timing tower. In 84 I was in New York and missed this one. Green Valley Raceway was a wonderful and challenging track. I loved it!!
I was in that race, in the sport class. A Honda compact car hit the tire wall going into the chicane, the tires separated and opened a gap to the cement barrier. Being that the race continued under yellow at that spot only the tires weren't able to be put back in place. Unfortunately Micheal Himes went off at the same spot but hit the gap in tire wall and hit the cement barrier head on . Very sad .
Did Elizabeth Burch ever do anything other than sing the anthem? I thought she was one of the better ones over the years.
Los Audi , visualmente se veían como de otra categoría
Every racer young and old should watch Emo vs. Nigel fights Thats text book clean racing.

I was there this race....all the comments about the wind that day are true! I took my girlfriend to the top of the Grandstand and when I let go of her the wind blew her 10 feet...Dad worked for the Los Angeles Times and we got free tickets to Ontario MotorSpeedway and Riverside International Raceway...the good ol days! Eric Underwood Class of 81 Downey High school California USA ♥️🇺🇲🙏🗽🦅 I miss eating at Sunnymead Burgers!
Armco barriers on a super speedway is wild. They might as well lined the track with cheese graters and barbed wire.
Esos tracción simple y mucha potencia , no tuvieron ni la menor chance contra los Audi 4x4
Indycar's greatest and saddest day.
Only three will survive nuclear war. Cockroaches, Keith Richards and A.J.
Great race watched it to the end and then it did end terrible film should be strung up
Didnt show how Brassfield passed Sharp what a deadwood coverage
14:00 I wasn't expecting AJ to so readily admit that he spun out on his own. Larry Nuber even tried giving him an excuse.
The same kind of cameras they use to film UFOs.
I wondered when I was a kid watching these old races why did they have a delayed tv start that they could not show the race live and complete. Still its great to watch these old Indi races from when I was a kid thanks for posting
It's all down to Tony Hulman. he was worried that if they showed the race live, it would hurt the gate.
@@almostfm Ok thanks for the reply it makes me think of the Wertz family and the Chicago Blackhawks would not show home games for the same reason
Still running the "old" cars in 1970. The more upgraded look comes a few years later, wing in rear, and no intake at front.
Texas's own A.J. Foyt.
Hey there is Bruce.....when he was still Bruce. Didn't look to confused at this point in his life.
I still call it the Billy Boat era. In my ERA, in CART, we had Formula 1 Champs like Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Jacques Villeneuve, and record setting speeds they still have not equaled, 28 years later.
Ah, the Billy-Boat, fat-man from TX beats the real winner on live TV era, such a Mickey Mouse farce, compared to CART World Series era. TY CoPilot, Google could not find answer. "The incident you’re referring to took place on June 7, 1997, at the Texas Motor Speedway. After the conclusion of the True Value 500 IndyCar race, A.J. Foyt had a physical altercation with driver Arie Luyendyk in Victory Lane. Luyendyk, who believed he had won the race, confronted the officials in Victory Lane, where Foyt slapped him and a scuffle ensued123. The confusion was due to a scoring error, and after a review, it was determined that Luyendyk was indeed the winner of the race"
😢😢😢 he is missed I love you too man from this racing fans heart 😢 😭
Bruce Flanders..Used to talk with him at San Bernardino Speedway (I.M.S.) "The Only Reason For Wednesday Night"..Great Guy..RI.I.P.

i dont got any idea than the indycalights race there! 😦😦🙀🙀
I'm just amazed at how many accidents they had back in the day when they really weren't going that fast for such a track, 155mph is nothing. Just have to factor in the tech at the time was just not capable even though the track easily was capable of allowing more speed.
To think, just two short years later Malloy would die at Indy, then Pollard a year after that. Dangerous times back then. So many legends of the sport here.
This generation of so-called racing is definitely not stock body racing, these things are specific track car's only even too the point of what circuit they will be on. The 1960's generation is the actual showroom stock car's that people could actually buy because they seen them on a Sunday & bought the following Monday and some are stupidly worth a mint especially at the buyers premium money Grab so-called auction houses, like kissiyou, jarret backson, & the rest, All driving the numbers up at every horder meet. But this video are definitely not production car's, there built to either win or wreck simply put, & repeat because of the huge money in advertising.
6 car's finished on the lead lap,6 caution s for 32 laps,43 lead changes,4 hr 20 min

Truly the golden age of road racing in the U.S. we will never see it again.
this race happened 2 years before the 1st NHRA National Event was held here, and 3 years before the 1st NASCAR Winston Cup Race was held here.
Why would this lead to the split!?!???? The split was much more than just the disagreement about engine formulas.
Racing is going on in many different portions of this ever so tricky course
Beautiful
I am pissed that the only uploaded race at Ontario was a. The last race at Ontario and b. Welcome to the last race of the season IN PROGRESS WITH ONLY 45 LAPS REMAINING
I see this as a coup from Tony...

With the horrible ESPN logo garbage stuck on the screen.

Billy Boat should have a snooty, pretentious alter ego who goes by William Yacht.
It’s amazing anyone agreed to use fuel that Burns invisible. I mean seriously. How dumb can you be?? 🤷🏻♂️
I was there, my GF at the time worked for the company that provided the BFG in-car camera. I got to meet a ton of celebrities, and worked with Dave DeSpain years later .
This track is wtf?!?!!? Pretty ridiculous.
Hi Randy! Did you happen to download more races from MRN's "MRN Flashback" that existed prior to 2018? I assume that is where this came from.. There were many races that I had links to that don't exist anymore, but never thought to download them before they restarted their archive in 2018.
This was my favorite win of all of the races I went to. Eddie Cheever is by far the nicest, brightest and competitive driver I have ever met! ♥️
