    Great resto. I’ve done a few of these myself. Need to add that roll bar in :-) and antenna while you’re at it. Wheels are killer

    Thanks! The car could have definitely used some interior mods since the original is pretty sparse. I think I had made an antenna at one point but lost it along the way ha. The correct wheels really make the difference!

    This is weird, but I just bought a general lee this week and I was looking for information about it and I came across your video and I'm pretty sure it's this exact one that you are showing. It has the same details from the scratched missing paint under the hood to the silver spot where the air cleaner should be. It look 100 %just like the one in the video

    I sold it to another General Lee collector online a year or two ago so you may have it! Got any pics of it you can send me to a DM on Instagram or Facebook?

    They were made in the late 2000s by a customizer on a Dukes of Hazzard forum back in the day…so I don’t think it’s possible to get a set of these exact ones any more. However I’m sure there are people 3D printing similar designs rather than making them out of resin like these.

    Unfortunately I don’t have a link as the forums we conversed on are long since gone. Try searching for Moparlover MJ on Facebook. Name on the account is Jamie Lynn or something like that. Jim was the guys name that made them.

    They were one of the less popular scales behind the 1/64 and 1/24 scale Generals. I’ve seen more of the plastic 1/16 scale General models at toy shows and stuff than I have these diecast 1/16th cars.

    I bought mine from a guy that made them using resin, but there are several people making them now that 3D print them. I’m hopefully going to be selling them sometime soon as well, but not just yet ha.

    Steven Duering during the span of the series, there were several different shades of orange used, including EV2 orange, GM Flame Red, and others. The California cars, which this car was made to resemble, used a orange based shade of paint rather than the earlier red/orange based paints.

  • @64Wheels

    @64Wheels

    6 ай бұрын

    That’s just how all these 1/16 metal cars are for some reason. Not a great way to fix it as you can’t raise the axle height because then the chassis will be too far away for the assembly tabs to connect. I’m sure if you put a lot of work into you could customize it, but some of the real Generals sat like that bc they had concrete in the trunk for jumps, so I’m okay with it🏁

    @64Wheels

    I built this back in like 2009 or 2010 before 3D printing was big and had no way to make a gas cap sadly. Not every General Lee in the show had a roll cage, so that part is still correct. I wish I would have made an antenna for it as I have made them for 1/24th scale Generals, but it has since found a new owner🏁

    Actually it's not orange it's a mix of colors because they didn't know the show was gonna be a hit show.

  • @64Wheels

    @64Wheels

    LOL WHAT. A color can be a mix of colors and still be a shade of orange.....which the General Lee is. You’re confusing actual paint names like Corvette Flame Red or Hemi Orange, as they are both shades of orange but are named two completely different things. It’s widely known the series used several different shades of orange, from EV2 to Flame Red, but there was no one “correct” orange specifically for all General Lees.
