Restoration 1969 Dodge Charger for The Duke Boys
Ойын-сауық
Restoring this 1/18 scale 1969 Dodge Charger diecast model with a modern twist on the power plant using a 392 supercharged Hellcat engine. Watching the Dukes of Hazzard and seeing the iconic General Lee Charger when I was young is probably some of what started my love for all things automotive. Like, share and comment. Special thanks to Jason from Outlaw Paints!

The show was more about the car and occasionally the other cars on there. I watch older movies almost nightly from the 50s to 90s just to remember how it was back then.
I'm extremely happy with your attention to detail. This car is exactly how I remember it while watching the Dukes every week. 😂❤❤😂

Apparently your memory is quite faulty because the car in The Dukes of Hazard was a 1970 Charger not a 1969 Charger. There are several differences between the two starting and with the fact that there was no visible line in the center of the hood and the body around the headlights does not come to a peak on the outside edge

@@richardhively3085 being that I was actually there I have no need to research it even though I have watched many docu series about the show and the most important character of the show The General Lee,try actually watching the show and stop looking everywhere else, the hero car was a 1970, pay attention to the scenes where the car is not moving because that is the real general lee

Great job restoring it. I thought for sure with all the detailing effort you put into the interior you might have actually wired up the new motor with mini wire harness. That would be cool to see, did a 1969 Super Bee many years ago and even wired the engine with fuel lines, spark plug wires and so forth. I owned the real Bee and my model was a near mirror image of the one i owned. I miss that car :( . But great job, thumbs up 🙂

When i was a kid i loved models ,even after i started working in a body shop at 19 i continued to build until my wife had a horrible accident when i was 23. After that i kinda went nuts and dropped the models. Still i had to work and ive built many muscle cars in my life. I enjoyed the process it was mind soothing and the satisfaction was immeasurable. I enjoyed watching this almost as much as the real thing. Your attention to detail is amazing. Do you build the whole kit with the 3d printer.

@MGower4465

@@Restorations4U the horn was genuine, not an effect, in first season when they filmed entirely on location in Georgia. You could get the kit for about 30 bucks to just play Dixie or get one you could program to play anything your musical talent could input notes for, for about 50. The producer did not know and paid some local kid 200 bucks for his 30 dollar horn.

Did you know that the true color of the General Lee was not the Flame red Corvette color ? Close match but the real color was never a factory choice or color . The true color of the General Lee is TNT Express . Yup it was a paint color used by a shipping company on its delivery vehicles . My Step Grandpas sons job back then was painting General Lee cars for the show .
