This is my truck. It belonged to G. Young (Kev's dad) for many years. In 2007 Mr. Young sold it. Eventually had two additional owners and ended up in Winnipeg MB. That is were I purchased it and brought it to Alabama 11/15. It is a 1979 model. The WHITE FREIGHTLINER is not correct on the front, but still kool as the truck displays the old style dash and doors from that era.The truck was born with a 300 Cummins, but was upgraded to a 400 at some point. The 400 (same as in video) did smoke, but ran strong until it dropped a valve.The 400 was subsequently replaced with a N-14 Celect Plus 460/525 HP. Only the cab, front axle, front portion of the frame, and radiator remain as the rest has been removed, replaced, and brought nearer to modern standards with in the last 12 months. All this while retaining the coolness of an old cab over. Something I appreciate whether the truck is mine or yours!

I owned a 1979 big cab KT450 15 speed 220 in wheel base. I loved that truck it could out pull every other truck that it ran with! I wish I had never sold that one!

I started out driving a cab over freight shaker in late seventies. These Trucks made a Truck Driver tough.vsweet sweet sweet.

Keep on trucking was a company, Kev truck is an ex KOT truck, as is this one. They hauled a lot of steel back in the day.

N-14 the best motor Cummins ever made!

Cold old NT855, and I suspect someone's played with that PT fuel pump. Ran an '84 359 Pete years ago with a 400 Big Cam with a HOT pump(maintained a constant monitor of the pyrometer, don't let it get past 1400 or stuff's going to melt)....cold starts would guarantee a smoky shop unless the block heater was plugged in. Enjoyed the video.

It was Kevin's dads truck, but he sold it in 2007 (?). I have owned over three years.One of the few ex-KOT trucks remaining.The only one still hauling freight.

Cant be a '79 WhiteFreightliner, White and Freightliner parted ways in late '76, '76 s were WhiteFreightliner. s '77 s were straight Freightliners

Yes it can be a 79, 78 was the year they parted ways that's when Freightliner opened a plant in North Carolina, the Oregon plant in 78 was still building some White Freightliners and there were some left over from that plant stamp 79. There were two different trucks for 79 White Freightliner (Oregon VERY RARE) and 79 Freightliner (North Carolina).

Cowboy Kody- you're not quite right. I spec'd a '77 COE from the White dealer in Portland it came branded WHITE FREIGHTERLINER. A friend of mine spec'd his'77 Conv from the new Freightliner dealer in Portland at same time as me. His Conv was branded FREIGHTLINER. I believe my truck was one of if not the last to be branded WHITE FREIGHTLINER.

They don't make those beauties anymore...White Freightliner... your truck was built to last forever ...you can be sure every single part of your rig's engine including washes nuts bolts were proudly crafted & made in the USA. Don't sell it now...because you won't be able to find an American Icon like this one around anymore. God bless America!

Its a 1979. 6 phillips head screws is the only thing in the way of changing the nameplate to White Freightliner. 1976 was last year for the White Freightliner badge in USA. 1982 in Canada.

This is the truck G1 Optimus Prime is this is when frieghtliner made great trucks now they make them stupid cascadia trucks.
