I owned this exact car when I was a kid in Florida,I got it from sun coast bank on a repo for 900 bucks, what blast i had good old days gone forever
Had this car as a kid growing up. The only differences were the louver hood scoop and interior was white. 440/RT Magnum. That distinctive exhaust sound will never leave me. Those last few seconds of the clip brought back so many memories.
When I was a teenager in the 70s the Charger was my favourite muscle car. Still is.

It was a lot of fun to rescue, bring back to life and enjoy a little.
Amazing the amount of options that were available back then. I had a '71 Charger Super Bee this exact color black stripe in high school (1989). I bought it for 4 grand! It had a 383 with a 3 speed manual, vinyl top (same rust bubbles under rear window) and rear wing. I had the Ramchrger scoop, rallye wheels, center console but no hideaway headlights. I went to the MOPAR drags and swap meet at Englishtown NJ and bought a posi rear, 4 speed and pistol grip shifter. I sold the car a few years later when I had to buy a car to commute to college. What a mistake!
Brings back fond memories of my 71 Charger
What a great car! The 71's don't get the love that they should. It was an end to a great era of muscle cars
Havent seen one in years. Nice ride
as a car guy, i am often asked, by well meaning non-car people, what my favorite muscle car is. I'm sure they are thinking Mustang or Camaro cause that's all they know. I always say '71-'72 Mopar B-body, usually getting a blank stare back at me. if anyone would question my choice, just look at this amazing R/T...so freaking beautiful. don't know if its a real V-code, but it is just everything

Yes it's a real V-Code, just has a replacement HP block. I rescued it from a 20 year slumber sitting in a yard full of 75 cars, mostly GTOs! After an extensive pre-lube procedure, it fired up on the first turn of the key. It was an amazing experience bringing it back to life. It was the feature car in the movie Vampire in Brooklyn, there are some still photos on Google images.
thanks mate never seen them ram charger work before, beautiful car.
My dream bucket list buy has always been THIS car, the '71 Charger RT, only with a 426 Hemi. Hardtop (not vinyl), painted a glossy dark cranberry with a dark gray leather interior. Final touch: A near full-length-of-car Aerosmith band logo painted on both sides in a slightly darker cranberry. I'll settle for the 440 6pack, though.
MOPAR for life
Love it!!! Take me back in time. I want one.
Unreal . what a great color too .
I bought a new '71 Superbee with the same headlights, tie down pins, but 340 Magnum engine. Nice car. Really liked the looks of the R/T though.
A beautiful example of an American muscle car. Unfortunately that's the last year for anything fast. I grew up around these cars in the 70s as a teen.
Beautiful ride!
She is a beauty 💪🏼💪🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸
ertl made an authentics 1:18 scale model of this car in same color combo, except it has a hemi instead, to a limited number of only 96 pieces. and i'm glad i own 1 of them. it is truly a beautiful car and looks great just as a real one like in this video.
Ever want a car really, really BAD! perfect...
You won't believe it but... This car could well exceed $750,000 at Barrett's auction in Scottsdale.
Gorgeous
Theres a twin to this car being ressurected as we speak. Mr norm and all. I just sold the motor to the gentleman who bought the car. I believe grave yard cars is doin the resto

I’m speechless

Nobody can say those Air Grabber scoops were not bad ass. 70 Chevelle Cowl induction scoop was also bad ass.

the quality was crap----all rusted away
NICE
Saw one today at the Concord mall.
I had a red one just like it Except with the louvered hood. My C55 AMG is twice as fast now though. - needs an idler pulley or alternator!

I had a Double Nickel also that I sold right before this one on Bringatrailer. It was a rocket! Have a cool video of 0-80 on my channel.
Sweet
The six-pack kit and 440 make that car but the last year like the GTO was it .Junk after that .
If I was going to spend any money on that car at all, it would be to take off the vinyl top and repair the rust issues that are going on underneath the rear window. Then I would put a new vinyl top back on it and the car would be flawless. I love the car.
I always thought a 1972 Dodge Charger was the only year that had flip open headlights and those tail lights. What do I know. I only owned 4 1973 Chargers and 1 1971.

NICE!:)
Nice looking car just what I'm after?
Photographer never got a interior shot. One split second on the outside looking in on the passenger side you could tell it had bucket seats.

wow .. very shocked how rough the engine looks ... 2 bad
That would look so much better without that vinyl top.

Funny thing, it came with a white top from the factory!
Nice looking year but the build quality was cheap crap.....most either rusted away or fell apart within 5 years which is why there are so few around today. Same with the Road Runner of that year.
400 with a 4 barrel carb is what 440 stands for not 440’cubes

You couldn't be more incorrect. You must be confusing this car with the Oldsmobile 442.
Lug missing on L. front

Good eye. It was missing the wheel stud. New owner fixed it.
I hate that rear spoiler.
@FredericksMotorsports
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's funny, the original brochure says that the Spoilers "provide negative lift for greater traction and control - particularly at high speeds". The car doesn't even go fast enough for the spoiler to do anything. And as for traction, that is only needed when taking it off the line, so it definitely doesn't do anything then.
It’s Mopar or NO car
NICE!! But that spoiler looks totally out of place on a car like that. It looks like something you would see on a riced out Honda Civic.
Wrong starter.....
They made them so ugly after 70
