I had a 70, 73 and 74 back in the day. I have had over 50 cars and these Z/28's are the only cars I miss.

Very impressive- masterful. I've never seen anybody have such an intimate relationship with the Camaro. Congratulations.

My dad is the original owner of a 1970 1/2 Z28. He decided to do a bunch of custom work to it in the late 80s and early 90s. Everything I know about cars is from watching him take that car apart and put it back together.

Good afternoon, Great build and fabulous job on the Z. I’m a nut for second genz, but really dig the 70. There’s always been some chatter about firewall markings on these cars. Especially the LA cars. Did you guys notice the firewall markings on the body after dipping it? From first hand experience, if you’re not looking for them, they can go unnoticed. In the video at 5:18, you can see them. Pretty cool. I did get some great ideas from your build. I really liked the way you hung the parts on those roller racks. I built a couple. Thanks, and take care.

Ouch the "A" Pillar section where it mates up with the lower cowl & the Rocker Panel used to suck to repair. Now there is a 3 piece replacement. I had to replace mine. So much easier than having to fab up the pieces.

Yea my grandpa tore down his ‘72 RS SS and rebuilt a good chunk of it. Think he made the rear fenders stick out more and made a custom hood, which he made both by hand.

You show the build sheet that was on the gas tank. Lower left side would have the dealer it was delivered to. Can you tell me what dealer it was? Also on the right side below what you show, if it was a customer order, it would be printed Customer Order. Just curious if it was a customer order. Thanks and great job saving a Camaro.

I pulled up the photos and unfortunately the sheet is too dirty and wrinkled to be able to tell, and it was so fragile we did't want to attempt to clean/straighten it.

Has anyone out the come across a gen 2 with wrinkles in the middle of the firewall? Right above the tunnel I have four long wrinkles. It looks like the car was twisted. There are a few on the tunnel behind where the shifter is bolted on.

Damn dude. Just buy a late model Camaro ZR1 and call it done. You get all the benefits of a late model car with stupendous performance. I will admit your project looks pretty good though.

Thanks...we agree with having all the benefits of a late model car...but we'd take the "looks" of a 1970 over a late model any day.
