Hi guys after trying to sell the car and being beat up by a bunch of tire kickers I decided to keep the car its just to Cool to Sell for the super low ridiculous offers i was getting in the $5k-10k range. I was originally asking $18k for the Car as I paid $15.5k for it and dropped a around $2.5k grand into it with new fuel tank and system and Carb rebuild and new distributor and new rear leaf springs. So I felt 18k was me just getting what I paid for the car and have into it and I felt that was fair. Its also complete 1969 Road Runner but seems that no one really has that kind of money these days to spend on a muscle car so I decided to keep the car! BUT I am leaving this video up as just an archive of my journey with this car.
*Since this video I have put a good 400 in it and done all new front suspension and power steering swap and have those videos on the channel so check them out!

I had a 1970 383 original air grabber car, it was original Alpine White, with burnt orange interior, Galien Govier authenticated it from thr vin and broadcast sheet, it was pretty rare, got a divorce and it had to go, I did the paint and body, rebuilt the 383, I miss that car. I love the patina on yours, I got $4,000 for it 25 years ago.

I had one of these in high school. I got it out of a junk yard in 1982. It looked about as rough as this one but it beat everything in town except the serious builders. It was a whole lot of fun. My total cost with a rebuilt 400 cid engine and automatic transmission out of a game warden car was about $1,500.00 That's including new headers and a $220.00 exhaust system.

If the car runs reliable, everything works in it and the 440 matches, then the price is decent. You'll Spend 30k restoring the body easy, but it's worth it. I had a 68 GTX 4 spd w/original 440. I regret selling still. Glad you decided to keep it.

I have a '69 Road Runner with 511inch big-block, 4spd, ect. I deliver new cars for my job. I've driven hundreds of Hellcats, GT500, ect. Even about 20 Hellcat Demons. I can tell you from experiance, those new cars are everything the old cars are, and then some. When you hit the starter button on a new 392 Scat-Pack Challenger with the sport exhaust, it fires up with the same sound & vibration as my old Road Runner. Old cars are cool, but so are the new ones.

Someone took the 4spd out left the pedal and the reverse light but put a automatic steering column in it and welded a patch to cover the hole in the floor LOL!! why they do that I would of just screwed a patch over the hole left the standard column in it and just put a console automatic shifter in it that way a 4 gear can go right back in with no big deal

I had one like that in high school. It was an original automatic car that was converted to a four speed and when the clutch went out, they put an automatic back in it and left the manual transmission pedals, but it always had the automatic steering column.

The tunnel metal is available, and so is the collar for the column. It's very restorable, and can be done as funds allow. That's the hot rodder experience.

Question: why is the ballast resistor not wired up? did you bypass it on purpose to deliver full voltage to the coil all the time for more spark? given you have a pertronix unit installed.

With the payronix coil you bypass the ballast resister it's a must or you will burn out the patronix unit

@@MuscleCityMadness aha! I see you used the proprietary coil. I just used the coil that came with the 383 in my super bee. the instructions i got with the Pertronix unit said if it has a ballast resistor in the circuit just to leave it in. it's been in there since the mid 90's so it must be ok.

There was a 69' roadrunner for sale in a parking lot where I go shopping, I was looking over the car wondering how much I had to put into this $8000 car. As I was looking at it some guy walked up to the owner said, $800, I'll take it. I misread the price on the sign, it was $800 not $8000. I still kick myself for that mistake. That car was a steal at $800, probably still a good buy at $8000.
