Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We're back with our friend Griffin Steinfeld and this time it's Mopar! This one is completely different than his twin turbo '66 Chevelle. This is an old school all motor badass making 560 to the wheels, 4 speed and mean.
Sit back and enjoy the ride...

You can’t be a car person and not love that car a poster child for hot rods. 💯 big man
The simplicity and beauty of this car is astonishing. My uncle John had a 1969 Barracuda 440, with a cross-ram manifold, double 4 barrel carbs, Micky Thomson Headers, a high lift Race Cam and solid lifters and a high compression. This was many years ago. He ran - (Super Stock Automatic) -- with a 4000 rpm (stahl-speed) and a 5.36 rear end. Best time in the 1/4 mile was 10.91 -- With 16" slicks at 8 lbs pressure the front end used to leave the ground. It always wanted to fish-tail on take off. This video takes me back in time. This car has the wright color, perfect for muscle...

I don't think the 68 road runner came with a 440. 383 or 426.
That about 700 hp in todays measurements wow! Love the sound of old school 440 nothing compares and they pull like a freight train. Ford and Chevy guys do not get it some do but most know Mopar's are the best muscle cars and the ones that dominated in the 50s ,60s, 70s, and now.

Very cool muscle car! I bought a new ‘68 Roadrunner 383/4spd in May of ‘68 when I returned home from Vietnam. The cost was $2,900. The only motor option in ‘68 was a 426 Hemi for $713 more, the 440 was only available in the Plymouth GTX. In 1969 the 440 became available in the A12 Roadrunner with a tri-power setup and fiberglass lift off hood. Thanks for this cool video.

That’s what I was thinking, when he said numbers matching? 440’s only being available in a GTX in 68, hate to pick, but very nice car
Seen a lot of videos and styles of cars but these old-school rides like this are my favorites.
Thanks Shawn and Griffon... There are NO words to describe that sound hey??? This is what a built should be, just a clean, simple, no fuss good job. That Roadrunner silhouette really could not look better than on this particular car. Badass is the word! 👍🏻👌🏻

My first car was a 1968 - 383 automatic Road Runner. Shifter on the collum with a bench seat to boot. Everything paint-wise was original, had a 780 Holley carb with an Offenhauser intake along with Headman Headers and a reverse shift B&M shifter. Had the car for 3 and a half years and then decided to let it go. Sold it for what I paid for it " 1.500.oo " dollars. This car really brought back what potential the car I had could have had. Nice ride.
Now that's a pure old school Mopar. That 440 Magnum Sounds badass brother so badass that it'll make alot of pretty girls shiver they're bones like no tomorrow mate.

Exactly I also think there is something wrong with the bucket seats as far as I know 68 Roadrunners only came bench seat and it is the wrong steering column, 68 Roadrunners had the key ignition key on the dashboard. Any time someone says Original Roadrunner I always want to see the vin if it is a 68 Road runner the first 4 will be RM21 (Coupe with post) Rm23 (Hard top no post) in 69 they introduced a Roadrunner convertible which first four will be Rm27. All that said car still looks and sounds like a lot of fun.

I believe 68 & 69 RR's only had a full bench or split bench available. Had to go up a notch to GTX for buckets.

Obviously, this is not restored but restified. If it is a true factory road runner, it wouldn't have a 440, bucket seats, and the pistol grip shifter didn't come out until a year or two later. That said I still love this car. I have a 71 road runner that I am working on with a non matching 440, bench to bucket seat conversion, and a pistol grip.
I love that he worked the matching block. A lot of people would say " how dare you work original engine blah blah blah...
Simple, clean, back to basics badass. Very well done.
That is one sweet Road Runner! Love it. Well done.
My uncle back in the 80s he had a 68 Roadrunner that was a street 440 with a 4 speed and it had a Dana 60 in the rear, he also had air jackers with bfgoodrich radials all over and the color was sassy green.

Sounds absolutely awesome. Great episode Shawn.
I'm torn between laughing and crying watching your presentation of the most understated and stylish muscle car of the late sixties ever built. And it was so stylish wasn't it? The most superb, sleek, low key design of the era. No other muscle car of the time came anywhere near it, they were so over-stated in design, all trying to "look fast" I guess. Unlike so many other Road Runner demonstrations, where they pussyfoot around with the thing, it was totally refreshing to watch you get your foot down and give it its head. I did nothing other than give my first new car, a 69, "its head" I drove the wheels off the thing, never for a moment thinking that I was driving such a future classic. I was 21 then, I'm 73 now, but if I ever had chance to get behind the wheel again and my foot on the gas peddle, I would give it rocks big style and try to relive a few moments of my long lost youth. As mad as it was. Many thanks. What do I do now, laugh or cry?
Ok man 30 seconds in and I'm digging Hell outta this car and stick! Shawn you ain't covered 1 vehicle I wasent in to especially this beast..

Jeff Priem awesome!! And great idea 👊
Such cars! Shawn! Your guest,s cars really know how to "torque" to us. The right set of wheels that can warp time and space and is for me the closest thing to feeling like a youth again. But if any one of us has the excitement and thrill of being in a 1968 Roadrunner, I,m surprised that no one has thought up the gag notion that in 1968, Chrysler would offer up as an option, a pound of quality Coyote meat ground round!!!
That is an awesome car-love it! I grew up in my Dad’s 1969 Roadrunner before buying my own in 1986 (for $600!). FYI, the only engines available in the 68 RR were 383 or optional Hemi. 440 was standard for the GTX. Check the VIN on your 68, fifth digit is most likely “H” high performance 383 4 BBL.

Love the stock wheels and REAL tires, RWL even. No 30" GHETTOs with an eighth of an inch of rubber wrapped around them. Beautiful.
9:21 watch his smile grow with the RPM haha
I bought a 69 RR Hardtop, new that year, only kept it 6 years, then sold it for practically nothing then. Wish I still had it, it was "Bronzefire metallic", with the black hood stripes, full black vinyl top, bucket seats, console, etc., and a 383 HP with automatic. First new car I had bought after H.S.
Have you all stopped smiling yet this is awesome ..great car guys .keep well .

One of your best episodes I've ever watched. At the age of 60 now, I was lucky enough to see some American Muscle in my country but never seen a MoPar B Body in real life. Watching a Muscle Car, I don't care whether it is a MoPar, Ford or GM ; I only appreciate that it was not turned into a circus clown with big-big shiny rims and the car is not lowered to look like a lizard creeping on the road. I won't comprise none with the look of these legends neither for traction, nor for speed. Been too long, sorry.... this is a one great example of a great car. You must have no taste of autos to hit dislike of... not to hit like button.
The RR and the charger pretty much the def of muscle car. This one is awesome...great sound and stance. The black looks wicked.
