That's a killer car. It's amazing how docile that engine sounds. When I start out my BO29 Barracuda. It sounds like it wants to kill you. Your attention to detail is impeccable. There were 90 Dodge Darts and 80 Barracudas built through the Hurst facilities. These cars did 10.50s at 130 miles an hour right out of the box. Just put a Set of slicks on and go racing. I have the announcement letter from Chrysler to the dealerships regarding these cars on my website. It's pretty cool.

only thing I'd change would be a more period correct set of "wrinkle wall" slick out back. the "pie crust" tires were more early-mid 60s vintage. Otherwise, wonderful job!!!

Gilbert you are incorrect. These cars were available from the factory with both auto (727) transmissions and with 4 speeds.

Beautiful beautiful job my friend, when I get around to it Ill have you guys do mine that way. Does the Hemi have trouble with over heating with such a small rad? What are the specs for the Hemi? I know they dropped racing Hemi's into these, solid lifters, compression around 13.5(?), racing cam? Can I get specs on the engine including the camshaft my friend? Also I know a majority of these came with a torqueflight, any modifications done to it?

@@jeffleblanc8850 in my book Jeff any 68 dart is a bad ass, especially done up in s/s trim. HELL it's in the top 5 favorites & dream cars for me. Don't ask where, some days #1though.

Are you guys planning to run the car at all, to see just how strong the combo is???? Sure sounds fantastic, and healthy. If you guys ever get bored with it, just switch to a slick shifted 833 4spd box, and it will be like a whole new animal all over again. With the emvasis on the animal part. Real nice car though!

Hemi Darts had 750 HP race hemi engines , not 425HP street hemi engines in them.

The front wheels aren't correct. But nice car.

They only made about a 100 or so in 2 years, a real one will run you in the 150+ range. Thats a little pricey not to mention most are still raced today.

Hope I didn't piss off anyone about the stinking automatic transmission part of my other comment,I'd still like to have it,but back in the early seventies my friends and I would not hardly ever own a cammed up hotrod if it didn't have a fourspeed in it!!!!!!Us old school guy's couldn't go a damn old stall converters,cause they always seemed like the transmission was slipping!!!!!

Johnny. I miss 4 speeds too. It would be the bees knees if this car had one.

Was the body acid dipped? Do you have the correct 'Corning' windows? Although nice, the Hurst wheels are incorrect.

Watch the video again, JUST SAYING.

VERY nice, but if you want accurate it should be in primer.

@Al Dingman I hear you brother... a proper built 727 with a stall is the way to go to keep it Mopar otherwise I'd go for a pg for the track ... If you wanna shift a liberty is much better choice than the 883 .... but the purists would not approve with either the glide or the liberty lol ...

btw, in my research the 68 dart never had maker lights in the fenders, hemi or not. Where are you getting this info?

BiffBallbag federal law made all american car manufacturers have front and rear side marker lights or reflectors starting in 1968 .

Not on '68 Hemi Dart and Barracudas...they were black from the Factory.

its very much "in place" in this car lol get educated on muscle cars.... your comment is out-of-place.

The only problem with this car is that it should have a 4-speed. None of the Hemi race pac cars came with the 727. I had a 69 Dart the same color .

None of the true Drag-pac cars came with Autos. The street hemi's were offered with the 727 and 8 3/4 rear ends,Period.

+gilbert nowak jr You could get a Street Hemi with an A-838 4 speed or a Torqueflight 727 Auto and either Dana 60 & 8 3/4 rear ends....Period.
