Nick put his heart and soul into restoring his dream car, a Challenger just like the one from the '70s cult classic Vanishing Point. He still spends long weeks building dreams for his customers, but now he has his own dream waiting for him after the work is done. Let's go.

I met the legend on the weekend and he is the real deal. What you see on YT, is how he is, always smiles and always runs around to make everyone feel at a home at Nicks Garage. I had the pleasure to sit with him and got the dream ride with Nick and the Kowalski. This car is a smooth rolling machine without any rattles, or noises. Thank you Nick.

Gosh Nick, at the start of the video I had the awful thought you were closing down the business due to the sober feeling from turning off the electrics. Then you lightened our spirits by turning out onto the road for a glorious drive in the mighty Challenger. As usual lovely camera work and the V8 burble is pure simphony. Congratulations on living the dream.

Hi Nick. Thanks for taking us along. I really miss my old muscle cars - my last to go was my favorite - my 66 A code 4-spd Mustang Coupe, Tahoe Turquoise w/ black vinyl top and black standard interior with a rare split bench seat. I had much faster cars (429 SCJ 4-spd Torino Cobra) and more valuable cars (428 R code 4-spd Mach 1), but my 66 was the one I enjoyed driving the most. While I think it's great to drive such a rare and perfect restoration around and enjoy it as it should be, I always find that when you have something nice on the road, it is like a magnet for idiots and jerks that seem to go to extra effort to ruin it somehow. I drove / drive beaters and sheet boxes that I couldn't care less about for years without any incidents at all, and as soon as I had or have a nice car, a restored or freshly restored motorcycle, or even a new car or truck, out of the woodwork crawls all the careless low lives who have to wreck it somehow.....leaning or sitting on the bodywork, door dings, key scratches, dents and dings, chipped glass, flying debris from insecure loads, cigarettes and McDonald's thrown out the window, everything from stupid carelessness to outright vandalism. I can't think of any of my loved specialty vehicles ever going an entire summer of sunny day use without some kind of negligent or wanton damage being done to them. I sometimes wonder why I bother trying to have something nice or new......we need some of those force field shields like in Star Trek to be invented.

You're singing my song. Rebuilt a '68 GTO convertible - got T BONED, rebuilt a '57 T Bird - had to sell it because of a divorce, Rebuilt a '71 440 6pak Challenger - lost to same divorce, rebuilt an '86 Mustang with a 302 4 speed- rear ended at a stop light and was a total loss, rebuilt '68 Road Runner 440 auto - rear ended and COMPLETELY TOTALED with 2500 miles on a ground up resto drunk hit me at about 60mph while I was stopped at a light, '70 Super Bee 383 mag, lost in a divorce ..... I gave up after that .... even if I bought another car, which I won't, I'd be to afraid to drive it .... I left out all the stories of vandalism and door dings etc. in general, people are jerks ........ and I'm being VERY polite.

Had a scare this week delivering life saving blood products in the middle of the night, thank god it was just a cold and not Covid, but I lost a few days and scared the hell out of my family who has already lost my father to Covid. This video calms me and reminds me of the great times I had helping and watching my dad race at the local tracks. My mom was state champion a couple of times driving for my dad. He could put them together, but he wouldn’t rail on them like mom would. Remember if it’s not going fast enough, pound on the dashboard with your hand! It always worked for my mother! “Go faster you blankety blank!” She told me that’s what she’d say.

Thanks, Michael. We're glad to hear you are ok and we are sorry for the loss of your father. It's very good to know that the video of the Challenger can help to make you feel better. We all need a little oasis from time to time. These cars can roast tires and smash gears.. but sometimes it is about that freedom to just drive and leave the worries behind for a moment.

Nick's Garage as I’ve told you before I am originally from Maine, worked at the BIW shipyard, my dad raced trucks in Maine and I loved my Quebecois neighbors. You are a very special group of people, no matter where you were from originally as a family. You know about loyalty, honor, respect, duty and most of all community. In the big cities it can be hard to build a trustworthy bunch of people you love and care for, but guess what? I am doing just that here and I love my new city and friends, but yes hard work is exhausting and we need to reach that intellectual “Vanishing Point”. It’s a way of life Nick, you are building dreams and teaching others to find their Vanishing Point. It’s not just an escape, it is something to live and strive for, no one can take away what’s inside of you. Amen, thank you, as you know I am a huge fan of Vasili, he makes everyone proud to be around. You all do, you are an amazing bunch. I cannot hold back the feelings I have towards you all, it’s touching. If we never meet in person let me say to you that your story and life has inspired too many people to name now, including myself. 🚗💨/\ straight to the Vanishing Point. - Freedom Forever

Thanks Nick. I am finishing up my 70 RT 383 4 speed. I sold it to a buddy in the early eighties. He repainted it white, and removed the vinyl top. I got it back and drove it that way for several years. It is back to original color and vinyl top again. I watched VP back I. The day, at the drive in. It was a treat when it appeared on TV. Once VCRs came out, we were in heaven. We could rent it and watch it to our hearts content.

Honestly, and at age 81, I think Barry Newman himself would be honored that so many people, from all over the world and all walks of life, still have the fondest memories of that beautiful, powerful '70 Dodge Challenger R/T, that iconic film and of him in that role some 49 years ago. Long live Kowalski! And, thank you for reawakening the 7 year old in this 56 year old's mind! My love for Mama Mopar will never die! Glad yours won't, either! Great car, takes me back to my first year working in a new car dealership. I started in September of 1969 in a Chrysler Plymouth Dealer. We had Barracudas, of course, but I always thought the Challenger was a better looking car. My first new car was a 1970 Plymouth Duster. It wasn't a go fast but looked cool. As always great video.

I watched that movie 🎥 on an LPH Carrier in the Gulf of Tonkin back in 1972. Kowalski was the anti hero with the iconic white Challenger being pursued by the police 👮🏼‍♀️. Thanks to Nick for bringing back this beautiful machine back to life. The Challenger is immaculate down to the Colorado license plate OA-5599. Nick is Kowalski a well respected mechanic and feared on the street. Great memories and a fine tribute to the seventies. Thanks again Nick.

A rumble from the exhaust provokes a comment from anyone standing there; " That aint no 318 ". The steering is great Nick. No play at all. The A-833 has a great whine too. Most of those people you drive past don't even know what that car is but they know it's a special car as it passes them. It's time for a drive from Denver to Grand Junction westbound on I-70.. that would be a great video! Take care and thanks for bringing us along for a dream ride.

i'm glad you got to enjoy your car. i miss the days when cars were cool, and going for a cruise and burning a tank of fuel was "the cool thing to do". all you need now is an under dash 8 track, some parcel shelf speakers, and a "bobbing head dog" in the back window, with a "pine tree" air freshener hanging from the E-brake handle. cheers from Ontario.

I love taking the big red Chevelle for a ride, but today's traffic can make it nerve wracking, too many cars, bikes and people not paying attention. Getting harder to find a good old county highway to just drive. Love your car Nick, I always liked the Challenger too because of Vanishing Point movie.👍💪

I love the attention to detail Nick put in this car. There are two minor details many Vanshing Point replica Challengers got wrong that Nick got right: - side mirrors: like the original VP Challenger, Nicks car only has one chrome side mirror on the driver side door - fuel cap: most VP replicas have the shiny chrome fuel cap on them. But not Nick, he put the regular one painted in white on the car, just like the original! These little details show how much Nick loves Vanishing Point and his Challenger ! Enjoy your ride Nick!

NICK & GEORGE! What a wonderful episode of NG you've given us here. I consider this a BONUS episode, given the recent extras you've blessed us with both here and on Patreon. George is working his tail end off for sure - and GEORGE? What a creative, awesome intro sequence in this one my friend. LOVE it! There's a lot of creativity behind that beard, let me tell you. :-) I pray every day for everyone who have lost family members and jobs to this terrible disease and I hope things will get back to normal sooner than later. For some of us in that boat, little things like NICK'S GARAGE help us cope with all the loss, all the negativity that the world has seen - and it reminds me personally that I need to get the GTX out for a pleasant little drive just like Nick just did, too. It's been hard to justify, what with being out of work all this time and all, but it's not good for her to sit and just like Nick, I built this car like he did his dream car (maybe not as well as Nick did, but it's a driver for sure :-) ). Hey everyone, please consider helping support this channel by joining PATREON like Nick says. It's cheap (as little as a buck!), it's easy and it does make a difference! Y'all be safe up there, here until the Lord says I can't be, -Ed on the Ridge
