Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Short clip of my 1967 Pontiac Superior Ambulance traveling Code 1. The siren is a Federal Model O located inder the hood. Towards the end of the clip, you can see one of my crew Mr. Gordon.

Early seventies- drove a Pontiac Superior in Los Angeles for a company called( I kid you not) AIDS Ambulance. They had Cadillacs,Dodge vans,Chevy Suburbans and the Pontiacs. Was eighteen years old and loved every minute of it 🚑💨
Some people need to understand, areas have a CODE 1 response meaning, GET THERE. PRIORITY ONE....other areas are Code 3.
In emergency medical services (EMS) and ambulance operations, "Code 1" typically refers to a non-emergency or routine transport. This means that the ambulance is not responding to an urgent or life-threatening situation with lights and sirens activated. Instead, it's used for scheduled transports, patient transfers between healthcare facilities, or non-urgent medical situations where rapid response is not required. For example, if a patient needs to be transported from a hospital to a rehabilitation center, this would likely be considered a Code 1 transport. Similarly, scheduled medical appointments or transfers of stable patients between healthcare facilities are often conducted as Code 1 operations. In contrast, "Code 3" is commonly used to indicate an emergency response with lights and sirens activated, indicating a higher level of urgency. This is typically reserved for situations where immediate medical intervention is needed, such as responding to 911 calls for medical emergencies, trauma incidents, or critical patient transfers. It's important for ambulance crews to use the appropriate response codes based on the nature of the situation to ensure that resources are allocated efficiently and that the safety of patients, crew members, and the public is prioritized.
What a hood looking rig! Superior on a Pontiac was unusual, given Cadillac’s dominance. 👍
And the patient survived and is enjoying life today 😄💕

James California must’ve had a seizure
My hometown of Pasadena California had a 1967 Pontiac Superior Ambulance as it's City Ambulance.
This thing is cool, l really like it! LIke the background too. Take care
That's actually code 3 where I'm from. Code 1 is no lights or sirens. 2 is lights only. 3 is get there now ... lights sirens
Love it love it !! Remembers me Kingston 2000 international meet !!
Awesome! The town I grew up in near Chicago had a 1966 white over red Pontiac Bonneville ambulance as their first fire department EMS unit. It had a little lower roof than this classic one. I remember those days well...
Super cool ambulance
Old American cars are crazy ! From France
Good video
I am in New Brunswick, Canada
In my neck of the woods in CA, Code 1 is "Routine," no lights or siren, Code 2 is "Urgent," no lights or siren but expedite response, Code 3 is "Emergency," use Lights and Siren, Code 4 is "No further assistance is required," Code 5 is "On a stake-out," Code 6 is "Busy" or "On a call," and Code 7 is the all-important dinner or lunch break.
Code 3, down here running hot is referred to as Code 1.

Shhh... these guys don't like it when you refer their cars to Ecto
That was great!! Looking forward to a clip with a real coaster siren mounted on your pro car!!
The plan is to install my B&M S8 this winter, so that I'll be able to kick some Federal Q's butt this summer. LOL!!!
Cool 1967 Pontiac ambulance can I have it how much did it cost
What kind of siren is that. Or is there a second siren under the hood, as it sounds mechanical, but I see a speaker on top
So DIG the covered bridge! Where was this? And BTW, my first ride was a red Pontiac in Middleboro MA. What a rig, or what we call in the South, a Car!
Here in Maryland code 1 is lights and siren. The other responses are just non priority i think
That is such a good plan! I get so tired of the Q2b sometimes.. It's like belly buttons. (Everyone has one) Keep us posted!!
From what I know, the car was there.
Woodstock? I live in Houlton.. Right across the border and just purchased a 1970 hearse. I also have a federal siren in mine but not sure of the model.
1967 Pontiac Ambulance 🚑 Whelen Siren 🚨 The Bridge 🌉 From The Hospital 🏥 Was Sleeping 😴.
Is that the bridge from Beetlejuice?
@RJBFIRECHIEF1 Not sure if you recall, but do remeber in the 63-66 era, Lockport FD had a WHite Snorkel? Someone said no, but then maybe. I saw one operating in Plainfield when the burned down a house for training. I lived in PF and yes, they have White Fire Engines, any chance you recall? Also, do you remember Gaynor Ambulance and Evergreen Amb from Joliet? Any photos or info? Evergreen had a Window van. Thanks.
OMG, who in the world would call this ambulance company???

Someone who has a phone with time travel capabilities...
I have never heard of a model O siren by Federal. What is the diameter of the rotor? Sounds like it might be a 6" model E.
code 3?
@parkman35 Where at?
Love it; but, slow and plodding; they'd be out before you got there LOL
In the days when Emergency Medical amounted to two drunks in a station wagon.
