Since the video was made I am pleased to say that Girard-Perregaux have confirmed that the model, 8795, was produced in 1967 only

I don't think it would be used in competition, I'm sure GP were excluded from entering competition since 1901 and can only attended in a judging capacity.

The case is very similar to the Constellation c Shape. And the hands more similar to Rolex. It s a great alternative to the date just. Wow 39 jewels movement!

Gyromatic was a name that Girard-perregaux used on some of their automatic watches. I believe it is just a marketing term

It uses 2 "Gyrotron" wheels as part of the winding system.

ugh why is this case so polished and was crystal replaced?

Nick Siragusa the case was always polished on these special run watches. We didn't replace the crystal
