57 Chevy!!!! I know a hell of a lot about these cars!!!! 18 years I had my 4 door hardtop. Trying to fix one of these cars is hard to do "ECONOMICALLY!" As far as the brakes go, I started with a front disc, rear drum set up from Speedway! worked ok for several years! But!!!! When I did a full front and rear disc conversion with pre bent SS brake lines featuring Willwood components sourced from Pirate Jack! Thats when I decided that any future additions would be "high end" components that install value in the car! Guess what??? it worked!! when I sold my 57 I got way more cash than taking it to a auction! The New Owner tried to get my price down but its components it was built with "spoke for the price I was asking!!!! Noi sense working your brains out and not getting as much value into the project as possible!!!

Looking good! I understand your excitement in getting stuff bolted on the car. My 56 sat for over 25 years. I started on it last year. Got a long way to go, but it's in a new air conditioned/heated shop, so I have no excuses any more! Well, except that I am old and getting poorer by the day! ;) FYI, I used 15" Mags off an S10 Pickup, think it might have been 4wd. Fit perfect, and look good.

I wonder if that high gloss on the dash area might cause some trouble when driving in daytime sun? But man, your 57 is coming along great! I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel relatively early on in your project, great content~~ still have a couple of vids too watch....all the best!

Great video, a few questions, what are the rotors and calipers? D52 calipers and 11 inch rotors (1 inch thick?).. I'm not a mechanic, just wondering when you first put the calipers on, are they supposed to rub the rotor? How free should the rotor spin? Thanks again

Thanks! I am not sure the model of rotor or caliper. It’s a kit from Speedway Motors that converts it to basically late model Chevy brakes. They slightly touch the rotor, but not enough to prohibit it from free spinning
