Sheer elegance
My grandmother had one. Black with gray wool broadcloth. A/c was wonderful for family vacations. The whole family fit inside. Miss it.

The 1956 Cadillac made a BIG IMPRESSION on me as a child growing up, so much so that when I got old enough to have a drivers license in 1969 I bought a VERY WELL USED just barely road worthy 1956 Sedan De Ville from a private owner. By 1969 there were only a very few these cars still on the road for normal use. I had a lot of fun with that car driving it and doing all the constant repairs it need by that time. It was an experience I will treasure to the day I pass from this world.

Absolutely stunning! The nicest '56 Caddy I've ever seen and in a well suited formal color combo. One thing I must say is that ministry in Montana must've been thriving. I'm surprised that whoever ordered the car didn't just go for a Rolls-Royce. It's not just highly-optioned, I believe it's got everything on the order checklist! The biblical "live simply" proverb went out the window that day! :)
My dad gave me his '56 Sedan de Ville when I was a teenager ... big party car (and nicer than this one in my opinion ... a 4-door "hardtop"). Sold it for a couple hundred dollars. I kept his '56 Continental MKII. Still going strong (unlike me).
A beautiful top-end Cadillac with every option...the folks who owned that particular church certainly weren't shy about living fat off their congregants' money!

GOD what a MAGNIFICENT BEAST! Emphasis on “magnificent” and “beast”!!! However that interior carpet is FILTHY!!!
I think this car is for sale again at the Raleigh Classic. If it's not, it would be amazing another car exists like this.
Gorgeous car . How does the 60 Special materially differ from the standard Fleetwood? I do know that in the 1965 Fleetwood Brougham models ( for instance), the Sixty Special did not have the vinyl top. Otherwise they seemed to be interchangeable.

Erstwhile, I would immediately change the carpeting to a fresh treatment, along with the headliner, and a delicate upholstery shampoo spritzing, Otherwise, I d be delighted.
We had a 57 Fleetwood w fuel filler cap in left taillight U said 56 was last year for that fuel filler location

I think the last year was in 1958 mine is in the drivers taillight (1958), 1959 they switched it to behind the license plate
