Imagine, in 1953 this was just another pickup truck. Today it's a work of art that you'd never leave out in the rain. You can be sure that no one will feel this way about a 2021 Dodge pickup in 68 years from now.

I had one in high school (1971-'75) and loved that old truck. So did the hippie chicks for some unknown reason. It was black and had the same 6 banger and 3 on the tree. Low geared as shown here. Got me where I wanted to go for years.

Why call it a D-100? That designation didn’t come around for several more years after this truck was built. This is a B-4-B. Great looking truck. Great work!

It is so great to see somebody take the time to fully restore an old classic like this and not Mexicanize the frame by dropping it on the floor and destroying the interior with junk the truck never had when new. It's just a good, solid, beautiful restoration!

A lot more bling than my old five-window 53. I also had the lower bed and made my own crank for the dampener nut starter. This one looks terrific. And the principles incorporated into the inline flathead are the same as those in my current 1949 KB2!

I have one if these I am working on right now, this one is the closes one I have found to mine down to the 7 steel slates in a short bed, I was just talking to the parts guy in Mich. and he'd never heard of a 78 in bed with 7. I told him well I got one. and then I just found this, I hope Mine looks this good when I'm done, The only difference I can see in the inside sidewall panels on mine are smooth, I've had this one for 39 years I bought it for $600.00 I couldn't believe it at the time, yes I was the first one to it. when I saw it I said does it run ? He say yeah we use it for the dump every week.

I am also restoring a 1953 B-4-C pickup truck, I found a 1950 B-1-C in Northern Minnesota it was in pretty rough shape but I'm using it for parts. Some of the parts are usable for the 53 and they are interchangeable but I have extra parts that I will be selling if anybody needs anything. I'm glad that you're restoring it to its original and not too many modifications good luck with your project, thanks for the video.
