New challenge: film a video of a big fish without a fisheye lens on your camera and without long arming every fish

I remember 54 years ago fishing with my mom and dad on lake Sam Rayburn in east Texas. I remember it so well because we listened to Neil Armstrong and Buzz walk on the moon on the radio. I also remember tieing to a treetop in deep water and catching 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 lb crappie until my daddy said no more. Probably around 50 though. One of the best times in my life. I was 15.

Caught a 16 3/4 inch Crappie on Lake Fork back in the 80s on 2# mono . Epic battle to get him in the net . I thought , this is the biggest Crappie I'm ever gonna catch , gotta get him mounted ! Hit the local taxidermist next morning , told him how I wanted it mounted , then he told me how much it was gonna cost . Best Crappie I ever ate !! I practice 100% catch and release nowadays , but still love my ultra lite . Awesome video , awesome Crappie , AWESOME channel 😎👍👍

Yeah it is hard to justify. An once I found out they still have to paint the darn thing I lost interest. There are a bunch of fake parts too. The sailfish people get done are mostly plastic. The bill and the sail are fake and it's spray painted.

What’s even more amazing is you’re catching them from the bank. Unbelievable. Keep posting.

The largest Crappie I ever caught was on my eleventh birthday in 1968 and it weighed in at a whopping three pounds and eleven ounces. I caught three of them over three pounds that day and all were caught on live minnows. I wish there was a way to show the photo here in this comment section. Keep sharing the videos!

I was born in 1956, so we are about the same age. Thanks for sharing your story. I too grew up fishing with live minnows. Nothing like watching that float disappear and feeling the anticipation of what's on the hook. I still prefer live bait over jigs. Congratulations on your huge crappies.

Depending upon what state you caught him in, that crappie could have been a state record. Great catch!

Hey Ty very nice fish. I love the lure you helped design with 6th sense I caught a plethora of fish with it in the spring including Walleye, Crappie and White bass great lure.

Once in a lifetime crappie and you didn’t mount it in the man cave, you released her to be caught another day. God I love fishing. Congrats and props to you kind sir 🎉

Dang, what a trophy! I caught a 3lb 6oz black crappie A few years back fishing for bass on a three and a half inch live bluegill. It was one of my most memorable catches ever. I definitely will be getting some of your lures. Super cool catch! 💪👊

Awesome catches Ty, I’ll look for those lures there isn’t much crappie where I live but I know the white bass will love em come spring. White and chartuse is my go to. Also love to see you go after those crazy wipers at the friends pond again !

Monster Crappie! My brother and I got two real big ones this past winter, weighed, measured all on film for our channel too! My biggest way 17" 3.4lbs and his was a whopping 18" 3.81lbs Looking for our own 4lb'er now! Any crappie over 3lbs is truly a fish of a lifetime up here in PA! Congrats man!

I’ve never held to the theory of being quiet when fishing, certainly you don’t want to be obnoxiously noisy but the largest crappie I ever caught (first cast) was moments after dropping my paddle in the bottom of my aluminum boat, 2 and a half pounds in a 2 acre pond. That is an extra large one for sure. Keep up the good work 👍

Grats on catching that monster. One summer in the early 2000's my brother and I were bass fishing mid day throwing out spinners. My brother hooked up and started screaming that he had a crappie. He pulled out a monster just like this. 4 to 5 pounds. We took pics of it on a disposable camera. That roll had the largest barracuda and bonita that I've ever caught on it. When we got it developed all of our monsters didn't come out and we only had pics of us on our trips. 20 years later we still talk about that roll of film. lol

I live in Va. We have some unique opportunities over here. Nothing so great it deserves a trip in my opinion. Unless you want a chance at a 100lb+ blue cat or maybe a big cobia. I’d just like to see what you could pull out of some of these big lakes or tidal rivers.

TY I bought two packages of each color of curly clobber when they first came out. I've caught hundreds of fish on them sense. Great bait love them. My biggest to date is 17 inches. That 19 " was a beast of a fish. Love your videos.

I caught mine bass fishing. The lure was a 1/2oz 6sense swim jig with a 4.2 inch divine swim bait. He had the thing all the way down in his gullet.

Is he actually making them or just have his name on it? I know there are KZreadrs that make baits, but most of the fishermen just put their names on something a company they don't even own makes.

Wow, I've never seen a crappie that big! Amazing size. It actually reminded me of the white bass I'd catch out in Elephante Butte Lake when my parents lived in New Mexico. Those white bass weren't as large as that. Congrats!

Holly smack down, that is beyond hawg heaven, slab city, turkey diner plate size! A few years back I got that diner plate bluegill, being it was one of the largest lake in Texas, I figured, no big deal right, got home scaled it, in the process I had sent pics to friends, come to find out it beat the lake record by 1 inch!!! LOL! I caught near the TPWD office too! Seen some big gills in Texas but it was the biggest I ever saw, I figured someone might have got one bigger. Would have had my name on the latest record books since I caught it with the lure I made.

Good job bro. We have a spot here but I've been trying to find other ones
