Today we are programming new smart keys into a 2018 Tacoma. The catch is that we are using the Autel IM608 with the APB112 Key emulator! Both of which makes quick work of the process!

    Great video , I work in a Toyota dealership in the uk and I've just had a 2018 Toyota yaris Hybrid with all keys lost . I had to replace the smart key ecu and immobiliser ecu and then code both boxes together by shorting pins out . We have techstream/techdoc which does not allow immobiliser to be read once all smart keys are lost . Cost can be around 2000 pounds for this work . I think it must be different in uk ,Europe

    I haven't used the 906bt myself. Honestly, I wasn't aware that it had key function built into it. Regardless, autel has some great features built into their tools

    @@VoltageDropDiagnostics well i was speaking generally in terms of how fast the im608 loads up when u select something. The ms906bt can do keys on the asian stuff including all keys lost. But i think on the newer cars like 2019s autel may have limited it. I just did a smart key ecu replacement on a 2019 tacoma with it no issues

    @@urahaman1479 Toyota changed their immobilizer system on some makes in 2019. So I’m sure it will take a bit of time before companies are able to find back doors into the system.

    Hello there! God bless your family! Autel im508 and xtool pad 3, with emulator and programmer. Which is the more capable on AKL situation for smart Keys(especially Hyundai,Ford,Chevrolet Cruze, Malibu (same capabilities for Toyota with emulator on both)) They are completely same or there is any kind difference? What you recommend i consider!

    It does! You still need to know what you’re doing to do THAT. But it’s able to do it.

    Where did you plug it up in the car at? If the car was powered off, also what if the scanner says 2015-2018 but the car is a 2020 can it still be programmed ?

    Hey man, I need help! How do I do all keys lost on 2022 Camry without any smart keys? Car is immobilized and has no power. I have the IM608 pro but can't connect without ignition turned on. I pulled out the smartkey ecu to back up EEPROM but it has 14 pin whereas IM 608 tool has 8. I called my local dealers' service, they quote me over $500 to reseed it.

    I got the apb112 separate from my IM608 pro. With that said I've only used the simulator on toyotas so far. I know that the APB works for 4D chip keys. I'm not sure of which other manufacturers use that style chip key. As I learn more, I'll let you know. Now the IM608. That works on the majority of makes and models

    Minus the european coding function, the IM608 is very similar to the IM508 and the maxisys elite all in one! So it has all of the diagnostic functions of a scan tool as well as the key functions!

    For this particular job? No. This is far faster than the oem scan tool for this particular job.

    I haven’t tried myself yet. But the last i heard, it didn’t work. I’ll let you know when i get a car to try it on. But again. I don’t think it works yet. I believe autel has techs using the gbox for those particular vehicles for now

    Yeah, there is another function to use if you want all of the old keys deleted. We are fairly certain that these keys just got mixed up with another car, so if/when we find them we wanted them to still be able to work with this vehicle.

    I dont think so, but dont quote me on that. I believe autel is working on it but I think it only works up to 2018 currently.

    The APB112 key simulator doesn't work with blade keys. But the IM608 is more than capable of programming those as well. Maybe I'll make a video of it programming those one day as well.

    I’m going to be honest, I’ve never tried! This way with the APB adapter is so much faster then this has been the only way I have done the AKL with a smart key. Next time I get one, I’ll try and let you know

    Smart keys need unlocked before they’re able to be programmed to another vehicle... see the cars get programmed to the key with smart keys as well. So this tool won’t unlock the smart keys. But once they’re unlocked, they’re able to program them
