The problem, as you know, is that the other guy didn’t make it. Whether this was because Scotty had better plot armor or not, is unknown, but a 50% survival rate isn’t going to win any awards, except maybe the (not so coveted) Leonard McCoy “Scatter my atoms into space” award. 🤣😆😂

Gonna be honest. That was a one off episode with.... mindblowing implicatiosn THAT WERE NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON. Except DS9 made it immenantely WORSE. Here we have enough storage space for People. Then Voyager made it EVEN WORSE. here is a thing the size of a deck of cards that can store A PERSON and have that mind be a physical hologram. Now imagine someone getting beamed up, their physical pattenr converted into specs for a hologram. and then transferred to an emitter?

In another timeline, what would have happened if the Zhat Vash's plan had been stopped/failed and the evacuation had succeeded? Would the Romulans have been able to maintain their Empire and still been a ungrateful thorn in the side of the Federation, and would they even want to be? Could their power structure have survived the relocation intact and still dominated their society - with all their infrastructure gone? Or would the free Romulus movement have taken over, just with a much larger population base - that's also very grateful to the Federation and may even decide to adopt Federation philosophy. …. Nice Romulans! And if the Zhat Vash were caught in the act, that would really turn the Romulan population against all their Secret Services and Police, knowing that one of the groups was going to hang out most of their species to die. [Why didn't the Zhat Vash wait until most of the rescue fleet had been launched, so that loyal Romulans could survive?] The other interesting aspect of this timeline is that Androids wouldn't be banned in the Federation. Or the synth attack could have been stopped in its infancy because someone noticed the hack and saved the day…

The ship design is alright, ant the nacelly pylons, from what I see here look like they could be variable geometry ones as well (when not hauling containers) - its just how they look, its not a bad things, just an observation and still would look good. It would be good if they also came to STO as well, even if its for fun like the Kobayashi Maru freighter as an event prize. (i know they are in game as a background ship and non-playable in that one yearly event TFO which is fun) I was surprised to find that they were unarmed, though the reasoning behind it makes sense but I would hope they would have some pretty strong shielding A great video as always, and a great starter for the new season too

You can just tell this was another John Eaves design around the time of Disco S1. It has the little wings on top just like the Walker. I honestly thought these would be very small ships after rescuing them in STO. Maybe more akin crew wise to the Aerie/Raven type or even Runabout crew levels. One thing that might've been good in the video. I think in the Picard prequel comic the Romulans are reluctant about Starfleet help as a possible invasion and conquering of their worlds. So requiring the rescue ships be unarmed as a safeguard that they would not be thousands of invasion ships disguised could've played in well to their sense of isolationist paranoia.

The tractor-trailer gets fancier the more the years pass. :) Though it'd probably be slightly more resource intensive given the starship component side of the holoship from ST: insurrection, it would have been a much better choice to be used given its much more expansive yet simple layout that was configurable.

Says who? The Holodeck still malfunctioned 20 years after it's development, and it malfunctioned a LOT. That's canon... ALSO Voyager taught us that the Holodeck runs off it's own power source, a source which is incompatible with other starship systems, again proving the "more power and resources" point I made. So again, a regular starship is still a more logical, and better choice. Especially when dealing with peoples lives in an open and grand scale!

A lot more would have gone into the further development of these ships given their intended purpose. The sheer area available and their on-the-fly configurability for the multitude of the different races that made up the areas of the Empire that would be affected and need to be transported would have made this ship type a Godsend.

You cant just make up facts to support your argument! There is NO canon or Beta Canon to support your comment... Im sorry, but you've got nothing! It is illogical to even assume Holoships of the 24th Century was a big enough thing to even develop them! In fact, since the Admiral in Insurrection was committing an illegal act, its far more logical to assume that starship was 1 of a kind... Weve never seen it since, and once exposed, the Federation would want to distance itself FAR from that controversy... So again sorry, but you've got nothing!

And if ask me two ships can't be in the same warp bubble, I would say false. I seen done in many episodes. So be possible to extend the warp pass the 5 pod limit by adding more warp nacelle. If you add more nacelle you need more power but the extender(s) need to be as complex as a full ship making build time faster. But this is just a theory. All that was ever said was due to the daunting task, and the events in the Romulan Empire at the time and leading up to the time, the Star Empire needed help! And yes, it DOES make sense to recall the fleet for refit, again because of the daunting task. They had a time frame for the Star going Nova and in true Starfleet/ Federation tradition they would have put together teams to come up with the best plan to ensure maximum survival. Sending in starships willy nilly as you suggest would simple create bigger problems and ensure far less people would be evacuated in the end. If you do all the math, you'd see, your idea is horrible in the long wrong... Anyhow, hope this helps clear up your confusion! Take care!

Silly me. I thought that before a star exploded in a supernova it dropped out of main sequence and swelled up to a red giant. Romulus would be doomed long before their star exploded.

Im not sure where you got this idea, but it's incorrect... There are 2 types of SuperNova and only 1 type does what you suggest... Besides, this SuperNova was a triggered event, rather then a natural progression! So yes, silly you!

You know, I know it's all about script writing, but did they really wait for 10th or 13000 ships to be fully constructed instead of sending each one that was finished on its way to help, this feels like a pearl Harbor mobent. For real, for every ship that was finished. They should have sent it on its way to its mission. It might have saved some lives

No, not exactly... Federation starships were already evacuating people when the Synth Attack occurred... However, the bulk of the fleet was being constructed and/ or upgraded when the attack happened. Utopia Planita had expanded it's births to 13000 in orbit of Mars and began construction of almost all the Wallenberg Class ships at the same time, meaning, they would have been completed at the same time and sent off!

@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics even so, I'm sure the Wallenberg & refits could be sent off after each each ship was finished by the time the shipyard got so large maybe 3000 ships could have been sent in the time frame of the expansion of the shipyards. & why only just mars I know Jupiter has shipyards & saturan they could have split the difference between 2 or 3 planets 400 0r 700 ships each world even if the synth/Romulan attack still happened it'd be pretty hard to attack 2 or 3 planets at the same time

Nooooooo, that's not how it worked... They werent building 1 dock at a time, and starting 1 ship at a time, they built 10000 docks at once, meaning they all finished at the same time, then built 10000 Wallenberg ships all starting at the same time, which means they would all finish at the same time, making your first point moot. Also, there are NO shipyards at Jupiter or Saturn in the Prime Timeline, according to canon, so Im not sure where you're getting that idea? And also, even if their were, it would ABSOLUTELY be possible for the Synth to attack at EACH planet anyhow. Im not sure why you think otherwise, but just like how Lore and Data were both summoned to see their Father in the TNG Episode Brothers, a single command would have affected ALL of the Synths creating the same outcome!

@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics those were 2 individuals with long distant shipyards they have their own management teams doing their own thing only contacting other planets for a status reports meaning communication between them would be small wouldn't it? & the Romulans only had enough ships to attack 1 planet right because they have a 2nd evil shadow organization they can only commit to so much Subtrafuge. And really they built the docks first instead maybe 1 at a time or at the Same time wow that just feels like poor planning they did use existing shipyards for the plan so I would have guessed some refits & ground-up construction would have helped finish a little faster?

Sorry you're satill incorrect on all accounts, especially since again, there are no shipyards on Jupiter or Saturn! And, The Romulans DIDNT attack the planet, the Synth Did using Starfleets own ships, that's why the ships have Starfleet symbols on them! And that's why Starfleet didnt know the Romulan Connection! You did watch Season 1 of Star Trek: Picard right? Because this is all explained in it... And last time, yes, they built ALL docks at the same time, and then ALL ships at the same time and that was a far more efficient way of doing things then 1 at a time, as history has taught us with mass production! Anyhow, hope this clears things up for you now, take care and keep Trekkin'...

It's ugly but imminately practical. Same concept as a train. Stack more containers/cars/pods as needed. Possibly with mroe engines scattered to provide more push, and when evaccuating a PLANET....
