This car is the reason why I built my truck. I remember watching this video the day it came out and when the guy holding the camera says "this is the scariest one of all" I knew I had to have something similar. All I've ever wanted is something that scares me to drive on the street. Have finally achieved that. Thank NRE for everything you've done over the years.

Honest George is as real and truthful as they come. In my 26 plus year career, Iv'e met some of the most gear-headed "Brainiac Dudes" In the military. And they all had a few things in common, Most didn't give a rats ass about what you think! And, most were never finished with their cars/ motorcycles. R.C's But, all of them were unique in their own rain-man zones! Oh, And I had a SGT who built a castle on his computer, 1 Brick at a time!! can't make this junk up!

Enjoyed watching this one. Used to see this body style of Rx7 tuned in Japan with 3 rotor twin turbo or big single T4 turbochargers and they disappeared quick on launch. This brings back memories except with a twin turbo V8 monster different style with awesome effects. Would really like you to build a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am that is identical to the Bandit with the stars and bars except with one of your small block 427 twin turbo monster motors and then they can do a Bandit movie with this car and watch that Bandit go....

@Arcticun In a factory RX7, the motor does not come past the strut towers. An LS1 does not only put weight further forward than that, but raises the centre of gravity. In other words, the car would now handle worse than it did. Not that it matters now that its a drag car. My original point was mainly "why do they have to turn a cornering car into a straight line car?" Also, the 12A out of this car would weigh 375 pounds including gearbox. 13Bs arent much heavier.

There may be exceptions, but for most of the US, 91 octane gasoline is the highest rating available at normal filling stations. Here, the octane rating is achieved by averaging the motor octane number, and the research octane number (RM/2). According to Wikipedia, Australia is one of the places in the world that uses only the research octane number. That means we are four or five points lower for the same fuel.

Super fast in a straight line. A gen 1 SBC is not "new technology" - even with an extra turbo and fuel injection. Sleeper means you can't tell from the outside what is under the hood. Aside from the cage and slicks, all bets are off when you start the car. Fail! lol That center gage cluster is adorable. It looks like a daisy. George looks like a good guy. I hope he enjoys it for a long time.

That car is fun to drive with a 100 HP rotary, and without AC and with a mild small block engine you don't upset the balance that much. Same handling, 300 HP 300 FT/LB...good times.

In most countries, including Australia and all of those in Europe, the "headline" octane rating shown on the pump is the RON, but in Canada, the United States, Brazil, and some other countries, the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI, and often written on pumps as (R+M)/2). So "our" 91 octane rating in Canada/USA = 97 in Oz. Also our 94 super is equal to 101~102 in Oz.
