160+HP 143ci Lowrider ST

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Engine basics: 4.5" Bore, 4.5" Stroke, CNC Ported Heads with +1mm valves is all 4 corners, 64mm Throttle body & Intake manifold, 8.2 g/sec Injectors.
Cycle-Rama CR536 Camshaft. .536"lift, 250 degrees on the intake, 260 degrees on the exhaust, intake closes 50 degrees ABDC.
Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather & FREEDOM Sharp Curve Radius Exhaust.
The last few power runs were done with the air filter removed as it was far too restrictive for the big 143ci engine.
I have to be clear & remind some people that I do NOT have full freedom to design & build engines for my customers, I can only suggest what I know to be the best. The final decision comes down to the customers own budget & preferences.

    Awesome build Master Tech Miller!! I turn 62 next month and buying a new Harley Low Rider ST for my birthday. My last bike was a 2007 842 lb street glide with the monster 88 Vtwin 🤣. Being much older I wanted a lighter bike I could ride around town and also go on two - three hour cruises. I can't imagine how much fun the stock 117 engine will be and I am not going to do a thing but add new pipes. You are one badass with that engine build. I think that engine would pull the tendons out of my shoulder when I twisted the throttle. In any event have fun mate and safe travels. And changing the subject, I am a musician and have tinnitus from too much loud noise over the years. Make sure you protect your hearing especially when working on these monster engines everyday. Tinnitus is no joke and having permanent ringing in my ears sucks so just want fellow riders and musicians to be aware of this condition and protect your hearing. PS.....you have a new subscriber. Love your channel. You rock brotherman!!

    Thanks for reaching out & leaving a comment! Much appreciated. Good luck with the new bike, I am sure there will be plenty of smiles per miles! The hearing is no joke that is for sure! I already have a mild case of tinnitus which does not seem to be progressing as yet. I am always wearing hearing protection in the dyno room as with a gas mask. Cheers again for watching!

    If miss used and abused, any drive trains components will fail even if they're a tough aftermarket option. Thr OEM compensator has been replaced with the billet steel option & the clutch has the upgraded 1275nm springs in it. For day to day riding around & having the off bit of 'fun' the OE transmission will be fine. Sure they're known to break 3rd gear from time to time but that was a risk the owner wanted to take at this stage.

    Keeping in mind the purpose of the engine. It was built to make hp & go fast. That being said, there is no reason this engine shouldn't last as long as any other big bore high output build. I always recommend halfing the service intervals when any big bore engine work is done. If you want a 143ci engine that is made for touring, I would lower the compression ratio & choose a different cam shaft.

    I noticed you use the stock 117 air cleaner. Would it get better results with a bigger breather? Is there a air cleaner that you recommend?

  • @MasterTechMiller

    @MasterTechMiller

    It would definitely make more power with a better air filter like the ventilator extreme (which is what I suggest highly) however this customer loved the look of the OEM Heavy Breather & the 2-2 exhaust.

    For Harleys to be dyno tuned does a power vision need to be purchased?

    No. There are a few different types of aftermarket tuning devices. Power Vision is one of them. Direct Link from Technoresearch is another, TTS is another one.

    The belts these days are pretty strong. For this bike & it's intended street use it is absolutely fine. Even if a little 'play time' happens from time to time. If you want to race your bike & give it a hard time I would suggest the consideration of a chain

    @Jay Pee I built the bike mate. The customer paid. The cylinder heads are roughly $3500 the piston & cylinders are $2500 Camshaft $600 Exhaust system $1800 Machine shop for case boring & cylinder decking $800 Compensator ramp $699 Dyno tune $650 Adjustable pushrods $500 Labour $1716 that's roughly $12765 Intake manifold, $900 64mm throttlbody $600 Misc gaskets, seals, oils etc takes it up a fraction more. I said ROUGHLY 15k in response to the previous comment. Some guys may want a different air filter setup which again will add to the cost. It is what it is mate. These are Aussie dollars I'm referencing too, just to be clear.
