16-Year-Old Girl Wakes Up Every Day Thinking It’s June 11
When this 16-year-old wakes up every day she believes it's June 11, 2019. For her, every day of the year is the same day. It might sound a lot like the plot of the movie "Groundhog Day," but the rare form of amnesia that Riley Horner has is much more serious. June 11 was a special day for Riley. She was attending a dance in her Illinois hometown, but the fun turned to fear when a boy fell on her. She ended up hitting her head and being rushed to the hospital. #InsideEdition

Exactly. In Groundhog Day he's completely aware of the repeating day, in fact he remembers everything from every repeating day. It definitely is more like 50 first dates where her memory is wiped of what happened in the last 24 hours.
So unlucky for her and her family 4 years have gone by now hope she’s better

In this case she retains all information from before she hit her head on June 11. Everything after that day will be affected by amnesia. She learned how to drive before June 11 so she still retains the knowledge of how to drive

that’s what i thought. if that was a school dance, the faculty needs to SERIOUSLY reconsider their safety guidelines, and they need to get some new chaperones. pretty ridiculous to think that this horribly severe injury could happen at a school dance (if it was a school dance)

so if her memory is wiped clean every two hours, does her family have to constantly remind her of what's going on and rush her to her appointments before she forgets again and starts asking what's going on? She seems to understand why she's at the doctor's office. her last memory is supposedly the dance but she remembers that she's being treated for something? I'm a bit confused with this case but I hope she pulls through. I can't begin to imagine my life in her shoes.
