I love how they really tried to help the child instead of calling her a brat. I have anger issues and my family deals with it by making me even angrier so that I will be "used to it". Made me feel depressed and mentally abused. I hope this girl feels better soon.

you don't deserve that and I am sorry you deal with that. when I was in my young teens I was really angry and sad all the time. begged my mom to take me to therapy but she never did. I did grow out of my anger, but I was sad for so long and had never learned how to deal with hard things, so I ended up doing some awful things for a few years. thankfully I'm sober and much better now. idk how old you are, but if you're under 18 there are therapists who will talk to you for free. call your local health department (if you're in USA), hopefully in other countries there are similar services. or talk to your school nurse or counselor, they can probably connect you with someone to talk to as well,

Y does everyone deny discipline. Even God disciplines. U hv to love yourself too (parents) not j others and by showing that u can help get the message across that the child is not a God to b worshipped at the cost of the safety or self of others and that the only option is to hv humanity towards others. Love is not hard to grasp for the child either. Being ill doesn't excuse anyone from being ruthless towards innocent loving beings (the parents) with no accountability.

I am so happy she was diagnosed! My 7 year old suddenly woke up like a different kid. He was diagnosed with PANS/PANDAS. 30 days of antibiotics and OCD meds and I have my baby back. Parents if your kiddo suddenly changes overnight. You don’t recognize them push the doctors to find the cause. Many doctors don’t know of or even believe this is real. THIS IS VERY REAL. Don’t stop until you find a doctor that can help your kid. I wouldn’t have believed it had we not lived it. May God’s grace lead you to doctors who can help.

You make a great point on noticing behavior changes because I think a lot of people from the outside would (understandably but incorrectly) assume this was just the child’s behavior and she needed some different parenting techniques but if your child is having any kind of erratic or sudden change in behavior, there’s probably an underlying cause that can’t just be explained away as a “behavior problem.” This would be so scary as a parent, especially the suicidal thoughts in such a young child. I’m glad at least that videos like this can succeed in bringing some awareness.

The behavior is alarming because you can easily tell that this isn't a personality issue. The first worry you have is a behavior altering medical issue (like a tumor or chemical imbalance). It doesn't always have to be a trauma that causes something like this. This is a case where you have to bypass the behavior to find the issue instead of being reactive to it.

As somebody who suffered from volatility as a kid due to a chemical imbalance in my brain and autistic traits, my heart goes out to Alexia. I was compared to Jekyll and Hyde myself as well. Chances are she can barely help her behavior and it's scary for her too.

And the worst part is in my opinion, people would expect the mother to be able to handle her because she is a special needs teacher, but the biggest difference is, after a hard day at work she could go home to her well-behaved, neurotypical children. She had a break. It is a completely different story when you are dealing with it 24/7. As someone who worked in a care facility who dealt with behaviors, it is unbelievably frustrating to handle destructive and violent behaviors and what gets me through those shifts with my head on straight was knowing I could go home and decompress. I feel sooo bad for that mother.

My daughter had problems like this, violent tantrums that lasted hours. She has just graduated in a medical degree! I always supported her and love her very much, it was hard for years on the whole family and it has taken its toll on my mental health but I am very proud of her. The younger teenage years were the worst, but tantrums started very young. I think a lot of it had to do with high intelligence and frustration that her body would not do what her mind wanted it to do, simply because of age limitations.

I was like this as a kid. It terrifies me to think that I ever was this bad. I was dealing with a mother who had NPD as well as lashing out from meltdowns and sensory overload ( I am Autistic but only just discovered this at 28). A large factor in my bad behavior was dealing with my mother; she was cold, uncaring, and to this day puts her desires above the health and will being of her children. I feel for this little girl and I hope she gets the helps she needs. It often unfortunately is the parents that cause their kids to lash out. This little girl likely is not having all of her needs met.

My husband works 60-70 hours a week, and has to travel to different sites around the southeast. He calls his kids everyday, multiple times a day. He calls me to ask how I'm doing and ask about how the kids are, ask how it was getting them ready for school, did they eat breakfast ok, and after he gets back to the hotel he calls and talks to us all again. He plays online games with the older 2 before bed while talking with them on video chat. Friday night, he gets home as fast as he can, showers, and gives every second of his weekend to the kids. He even leaves 3am monday morning rather than sunday night (and stay in a hotel) because the kids want him there for bedtime. It irritates me that the dad's like "i don't have the time to talk to you everyday..." After watching Supernanny, i noticed dads often check out when kids behavior gets hard and they use their job as an excuse. You don't work so much that you don't have the time to know what's going on with your kids and to be a partner to your wife.

I think I can kind of understand what she's going through. Children are smarter than we give them credit for. I think she knows that this kind of behavior is wrong, but she also cannot control it which lead to a lot of frustration for her. Therefore the "explosion" or desire to hurt oneself, others because it's all so overwhelming for a child and she cannot just keep it in. I hope she gets the help she needed, and kudos to the family for genuinely trying to help her instead of blaming her

  • @sacrilegiousboi978

It’s so lucky that she has such loving and supportive parents, one of them being a special needs teacher. Many kids like this are just labelled as brats and written off by their parents and teachers and locked away in institutions or care facilities for mentally unstable kids and kept on cocktails of medications to “zombify” them. I’m absolutely blown away by the sheer empathy and maturity in the family, the sister didn’t blame her and suspected something had happened to her brain and the mother even wondered if it was something she had done wrong. Many parents couldn’t even face considering the possibility of a child acting out somehow being due to their own wrongdoing! The world would be an infinitely better place if more people had the same maturity, kindness and empathy as Alexia’s family. Turns out she has PANS/PANDAS a condition that causes brain inflammation following a strep infection. Who knows how many other “naughty” kids out there are also suffering from a medical condition.

Video: This little girl was a normal, well-behaved child but contracted an illness that damaged her brain. Comments: *sHe NeEDs a BeLt!* Edit: It's been a while since I checked this but I'll just say to all the people who say "white people are too nice" or "she would never act like this around a black/Mexican/Asian family" are wrong in many ways. There *are* white people who beat their kids, they're called rednecks and I was raised by them. And I was beaten with a belt but it never taught me good behavior or respect, it taught me fear and discipline and it definitely affected me negatively. There were even times where I didn't know why I was punished and expected to know but it was never explained to me. And stop bringing race into issues like this. Whenever I see the "[insert minority race] beat their kids" argument, it doesn't make me change my mind because, like I said before, all races have beaten their kids and second; all your argument does is tell me that minorities are abusive towards children. What kind of argument is that? Are you seriously trying to turn everyone into a racist with this?

Update on Alexia’s story: Alexia was successfully diagnosed with PANDAS. PANDAS is a disorder that causes the immune system to attack the brain whenever you get infections, leading to irrational, erratic behaviour (sometimes also physical symptoms such as seizures, but this didn’t happen in Alexia’s case), and is initially specifically triggered by strep bacteria. Source: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nnuCqpSdj5yzh7A.html For a while, she got the right antibiotics which got her back to normal. But soon the antibiotics stopped working, so she’s now having other symptoms such as hallucinations, hearing voices, and suicidal thoughts.

I am speechless.. I am diagnosed with PANS and I knew right from the beginning what her situation was. I was diagnosed at 12 YEARS OLD after causing my family incredible stress and torture from about the age of three. I also had OCD and tics, as well as insane aggression and violence. I had attempted s****de multiple times starting at the age of 12 as well as thinking about it from a very young age. I had been sent to multiple psychiatric facilities and they drugged me up on meds which caused me to go even crazier. What really helped me was getting allergy tests and taking tons of anti-biotics and pro-biotics. and lots of immune supplements. In the most recent years, I have done IV vitamin treatments that strengthen my immune system. I recommend eating well and staying far away from foods you are intolerant to. (get tested to know for sure). Eating inflammatory foods can cause inflammation and the brain to swell. Which causes irrational behavior and possibly tics. Of course, this all depends on your diagnosis Don't take anything I say as 100% everyone is different. I am so glad she is diagnosed because sometimes it's hard to tell if the situation is much different because PANS/PANDAS has a lot of similar symptoms to OCD and schizophrenia, as well as overlapping symptoms with autism. It's so confusing especially when you're dealing with a child or a teenager and they are producing a lot of hormones and developing quickly. But I am so happy that she got diagnosed because now she can be treated for what she has.

kly rand you know, all I said was discipline. Chill. U said abuse, I didn't. Read. Discipline can vary due to the types of parents. It can pretty much be giving a stern and strong command. Like I said, yes she needs help and I am glad she did, but also trying to set discipline (it doesn't have to be spanking. It's whatever works for the child) DOES help the child get a slight understanding of what's right and wrong. Also I advise you to not call someone ignorant and uneducated for a simple thought. It doesn't make you very worthy of respect when you're in an argument. If she did not have a mental issue, I would spank her. Abuse also means hitting your child regularly out of no reason. Spanking is something to teach the child of what is wrong. No u don't just spank them, but you explain and teach what is wrong. But every kid works differently. Are we done now?

I said discipline is required in areas of purpose, meaning if the child does something on purpose, there needs to be a consequence, in order to teach the child to not do it anymore, im not talking about beating your child but some parents are just idiots and let their children do whatever they want, and its a bad example, for all families in the world that do let their children get away with it, because look what they would grow up to be.

Hannah Meaker That is a classic possession! Even Children can become possessed!!! This is scary.. I wonder if she would try to walk into a church to see her reaction!!! A mental disorder is always the first thing they do. That just drugs the child. I would have tried walking in the church or reading out loud from the Bible to see her reaction to it.. if that had no effect then I guess I would have to go with the Dr. And Hospital.. but, as for this video Wow!!! 😮😯🙁

I just got diagnosed with PANDAS a few days ago This condition is a LIVING HELL It feels like brain is physically, emotionally, mentally, logically, and psychologically rotting in every aspect Every single basic action is torture from the devil himself due to crippling OCD I once spent 1H putting my phone done, 2H rubbing my eye, and 2H trying to out my head down “properly” so that I can sleep for 4H only to wake up and spend 2H trying to sleep again, when I’m so sleep deprived I feel physically sick, but I can’t sleep cuz of the psychological torture having pandas puts me through. My crippling OCD so severe I literally can’t do anything. I CANT DO ANYTHING this isn’t an exaggeration either So Im left with external mental torture as my brain physically and mentally burns at the maximum capacity, all while being physically sick from sleep deprivation, but I can’t sleep cuz of severe crippling OCD This is how PANDAS feels to best of my explaining

Yep… That’s what it was like for me at one point too. Don’t worry, you’ll find the right treatment and all that stuff will go away. It is scary and it is hard, but you will manage to do it! I did it! Now I’m attending a university and living on my own while making the honor roll each semester and engaging in leadership roles of many student organizations! You’ll get through this!

Helen Smith thanks, but in all honesty, my heart goes out to both the parents. I don't blame either of them and I also don't blame the child. I think something, neurologically, happened to the child that she can't control easily. It is a hard situation. I don't wish that on anyone.

@@theresabrown1272 What about my comment leads you to believe I think it is funny? Because I like her comment? So what!? There isn't even one lol to suggest I found it funny. You psychopath! Who the Hell do you think you are?! The internet police? I'll laugh at whatever comments I think are funny, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it! What do you care if I laugh at another person's comment? By the way... Shouldn't you be pissed at the original poster of the comment, and not the people replying to the comment? It isn't my fault you have no sense of humor. I never said the child's condition was funny. I thought the comment about mom calling a priest for an exorcism funny. I can't believe you went and took time to call me out in a KZread comments section. How pathetic are you? You must be miserable. Who the fuck cares so much about strangers and the comments they leave on KZread videos?! My comment bothered you so bad, you had to take time out of your day to address me?
