You didn't show how you connected the wires to the chip.

I spent 6 hours putting that kit together today ... The kit included that 104 Ceramic Capacitor .. How come there is no spot on the pcb for it ?

oh okay that's where I took a wrong turn... But you have to admit, that it's ambiguous how you have to put that daughterboard in :D but I guess it makes sense to solder it in a 45° angle, it's easier then.

After some modifications it worked, so I'd say it was ok. You can certainly buy it, if you want to have it. Nothing wrong with the kit. The parts etc. were good.

Thanks! Good question, but unfortunately, I don't know. There was no documentation included with my kit, and the pins are simply labeled A, B, C, and D. But I'm guessing it's to tweak the sound generation. Maybe change the speed, pitch, etc. But that's just a guess.

You're right. The direction doesn't matter for the sockets. However, putting them in the right way round makes placing the ICs later easier for you. For the ICs, it does matter which way around you put them in. Mounting the ICs the wrong way around could damage the affected chips. The notch on the sockets indicates where pin 1 of the IC needs to go.

@@nerdhut I actually took your suggestion for the no4 connection and used wire for all 3 of the central connections, but the board is still hard to get on

Yes, unfortunately that part of the kit was quite difficult to assemble
