Hi I'm another one late to the party. I bought this mini kit months ago and didn't know where to start with it as I'm a complete soldering beginner. Thanks for the video great content and easy to follow. It gave me a clue how to attach the mini dotter board.

I echo the sentiment. I wish I had watched this before I started then I wouldn't have attempted to solder the daughter board last. Lesson learned! Cheers @Kris Cochrane

Thanks for the great video! I made one of these with my son this evening and it worked the first try. The instructions are...incomplete, but your video made up the difference.

Great video, and just like Sabastian I was wondering the exact same thing about the mini board. Many thanks!

Great value for the switches alone. Just bought one myself.

Hope you can help me out but I have a kit from Aliexpress which looks pretty much the same EXCEPT the main board doesnt have any connection for the capacitor (yet I received one). Any idea where it goes? Search 16 sound box on aliexpress or ebay and you will find it (board is green instead of blue). I just hear a bunch of crackling noise.

I know it's an old video but I "eventually" received a couple of these today. Good fun building the first one - it's bloody loud! Gonna see if I can mod the second one - different sounds/tones or maybe add it to a PIR to create a gimmick alarm.

P Kaye The big thing is to not apply too much heat with your soldering iron - less is more. If you do, and I did when I first started out, you can irreparably damage the components. Resistors are fairly resilient but Semiconductors (chips and transistors) are easily damaged. Of course, you may have been unlucky and have had faulty kits - entirely possible! Hope this helps you, if you want any other advice let me know. Cheers
