Just wanted to say thank you Col Ninny. I'm a flight sim novice and without this series of lessons, there is no way I would have been able to enjoy IL-2 at all. I really look forward to my hour or two of flying lessons every evening.

The best way to learn is actually online with a group. if you are interested and our time-zones fit you could fly with my group OPFR. We were all at your stage at one point! You and I could fly together and see where' you're at. Reply here if interested. cheers.

@@colninny8769 That's very generous. I would like that. I'm in the EST time zone but am pretty flexible with hours.

@@peterkossits4794 I'm on the West coast so I'm on PST. No problem. We just need to connect on Discord. That's the standard MP comms channel system. Can you dwnld Discord and then search for me and make a friend request. You could go to the official IL-2 webpage and find their discord link. Search for me there. ColNinny. Once friends I can invite you to OPFR server and we can go from there. If no joy come back here and we'll find a plan B.

Thanks Col Ninny, I'm an ex-infantryman, getting into some flight simming in my meantime. And I'm loving the learning curve here. These vids are absolute ace. I've been fighting the craft while flying without realizing that I just need to trim the axis. Now I'm flying much better, and crashing with abit more grace lol.

great to hear Ciaran. Gotta let the thing fly itself so you can press concentrate on pressing the trigger :) Takes time, and a lot of practice. Let me know when you step into multiplayer.

Look at the nose up attitude of the plane on the ground.ie where the horizon sits in relation to the canopy. when you come in to land bring the horizon to that point and hold it there. Try with the BF110. Most stable to practice on. Ain't easy, it's like a real aeroplane!

Learning to fly some in a similar but slightly less in depth game (ww2 online) and this video series is concise and great for those who do not know the basic physics and fundamentals of flight. Cheers Ninny, these videos have helped me alot!

There's an English expression that says :You have to be on the ball!" It's not a soccer term, it comes from the RAF

Also if you have Track IR put your face close to the monitor and press F12 to reset. Then as you sit back you will be further from the virtual dashboard, then zoom out.
